I was also inspired by the video. But my inspiration was to leave him a disappointed comment 😂 because he says "and i just found this random accapella" as if sampling one of the most famous vocals wasn't the important bit. You put just a kick drum under that vocal and it would work as a set filler! The important bit was not the remix itself, but the choice of thing to remix.

There's lots of stem separation plugins and software nowadays that can separate a vocal if you can't find it on one of the many acapella sites.

@@boothbuster yes I know how it was done. That's not my point. He glossed over how important that vocal is , focusing on the other parts. saying you can make a track in 20 mins and to work in your set. Most of the skill in this tutorial is knowing how important that vocal is, because you could just play that vocal with a kick drum underneath and it would work in most sets! So showing how he remixed it is almost redundant because almost anything would work.

@@Bthelick I disagree. There's plenty of royalty free vocals on Loopcloud and Splice. You could take any decent vocal performance and add a beat to it and it will sound cool. The reason people like a vocal is that from a very early age, we associate the human voice with nurturing... so it's natural that our hearing and our emotions are tuned into the vocal range in general.

"Decent" vocal performances don't top the pop charts or win Grammies. Iconic vocal performances do. While I'm sure there are some good vocals on Splice that have been used in hit records, the best vocalists make actual records, not sample packs.

I think the title is misleading, as one expects to learn more about remixing classics. There is nothing about how to find such acapella samples or whether one can actually release such remixes of classics without a license and without risking your remix being simply reported and taken down.

There's loads of acapellas here on KZbin for example. As for the copyright issues, KZbin seldom takes remixes down, Soundcloud does often. The description is correct though, it's about remixing (classics). No one can promise you no copyright issues if you work with copyrighted material.

Looked into it but saw the price and bank balance said (insert family fortunes noise) that is the problem with music production a lot of it is almost closed off to the working classes, those middle class and above can afford all the gear, all the tuition and hugely the promotion etc, I am not saying that Will's courses are a rip off btw and I wouldn't have even looked if he didn't seem a legit teacher just most people do not have that kind of cash to spend on what is a punt. look at all the people coming through in the dance music scene its not organic and very few working class make it sadly.
