What is the process to actually get in and drive away? If entering the vehicles cuts the engine, doesn't that mean you have to start it a second time to drive away?

Put your foot on the brake a press the start button after you get in and it takes it out of remote status and puts it in drive mode.

It will work if you get or have the feature installed. Remote Engine Start is not a standard feature on the 2013 model year but Lexus dealers can install it for you and it will work like the video.

It is available for the 2015 AWD RX 350 but it was not a standard feature. You can have it installed at your local Lexus dealership or you can find out if this was an option on your RX by looking at your Window Sticker and checking all of the options/accessories.

There are technically 3 "different" Remote Start systems available on the RX. What year is your Lexus RX? I can tell you if you have the Enform Remote (which starts via app on your smartphone for 2016 and newer models) or RES+ which was an option available from 2013-2016 I believe and the "normal" Remote Engine Start which is the one in this video and everyone is talking about below. One of the safety features of Lexus Remote Start so to make sure someone couldn't jump in and drive off with your car before you (and the key) are in your Lexus and ready to go.
