THANK YOU for this video! Just to add some info that I’ve learnt over the years: the drill has two directions F (for forward) and R (for reverse). You are meant to use forward when using the drill with your dominant hand and reverse when managing the drill with your opposite hand! That way it doesn’t skip when using it because it will be turning in the right direction. Another quick tip is to never change the direction of your drill when it is spinning because it will damage it. This happens because it has to stop very quickly (kind of like stepping your foot on the break at full force) before changing directions, as opposed to slowly decreasing the speed and changing it when it isn’t turning. Anyways, I loved the video and best of luck

Hi thanks a lot this helped me so much but we’re I love you can’t find 100% pure acetone so I always used nail polish remover and didn’t understand why it didn’t work but now I know I have a question tho since I can’t buy acetone I found a nail polish remover with acetone does that work to or does it have to be 100%?💕

the warm water heats up the acetone and it works better! meaning you soak off with less time

It's all in the preparation,, you have to remove any organic material from the nail plate,otherwise known as the cuticle, you can either use diamond drill bits (I recommend blue grit) and make sure you've removed the shine from the nail using a file of 220 grit, then dehydrate, let that dry properly and then use either an acid primer or non acid prime, let that dry completely, you'll know because your nails will be all whitish with no shine, once that is dry you can go ahead and start your base coat. If any layers of gel or base gel sit on unremoved cuticle or it runs into the side walls or cuticle area and onto the skin, then you'll get lifting, there are a few decent tutorials about nail prep, etc on YT, Have a look at Nail Career Education, Susie has been doing nails for over 30 years. I hope that helps. I was taught by an educator for Astonishing nails and various YT channels 🙂

Mine took hours. I started at 9pm and didnt finish until 1am. Soaked for the whole time while scrapping, filing etc and nothing seem to work to get them off. Harder than acrylic 😩I gave up at 1am and went to bed 😢

You do remove hard Gel. As acrylic, you proceed to refill it, and only remove them when are brokered or lifted. Otherwise you are ruining your nails without any need of.

What’s your secret girl?! I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. I took my nails off tonight after two weeks of having them on because they didn’t look the best (I’m new at gel extensions and polish so I wanted a redo). After using the drill to get the bulk of the extension and gel off, I used the foils in acetone like you did but after I scraped the gel nails off my actual nails are so thin and brittle more so than they would be if I ripped the nails off, which I’m guilty of doing in the past 😩😔 any ideas? Also, I love all your videos and TikTok’s, I’m amazed at all your nail designs and appreciate your tips and product recommendations! 😘

Did you possibly file the natural nail when removing? Also you may have scraped the remaining product off to early. It has to be soft and really easy to come off otherwise you damage your nail when scraping and forcing it off since it’s in a sensitive state from the acetone. I keep my nails in the acetone pads for 10min and if it’s not enough put them back in and keep checking until the product basically flakes off. I actually use my thumb nail on my other hand to push it off so I can be gentle and really feel it. There are wooden and glass cuticle pushes that are gentler than the metal ones too. I haven’t had any damage that I’ve noticed/felt but I also have strong nails each person is different Good luck and I hope you find a way that works for you!

@@Kiwikick238 I don’t think I did, but it’s possible I maybe drilled too much off and then didn’t let them soak in the acetone long enough. After a few other removals, I think it’s gotten better but they do still feel super brittle so I think that’s possibly just my nails. But basically I stopped using the drill and just used a normal file to remove the shine from the gel, then used the tinfoil with acetone to soak them. It usually takes longer than 10 minutes for me. But a wood or glass cuticle pusher is a good idea, I might try that. Thank you for your tips 💕💕

I don't get the obsession with completely removing the extension. If there's no lifting you can just keep a thin layer of product on your nails. It also helps to protect your natural nail. And if you want to do your nails agin you can just go right over top
