Hey, great video! I'm trying to just replace the plastic housing on my '18 impreza. Subaru tells me i can't do that, I have to buy a while new assembly for $250. My question is, If I can just find the plastic housing, can I easily remove the wires from the old and put them on the new?

What do you mean by plastic housing? The outer clear plastic, the inner part the sockets attach to, or both of those as one unit? The two parts can sometimes be disconnected and reattached, but usually the whole unit is dealt with. Either way, usually the wires can easily be removed by disconnecting a connector or pulling the bulb socket out. Factory LED parts may be a little tricky, but they should have some sort of disconnect as well.

As in the red section of the taillight halves that are connected to the hatch? I don't know of any quick and easy ways, but I have been curious about that in the past. I'll look into it again when I get the chance. There's a whole automotive light housing modification niche out there that I've been meaning to look into as well, but those modifications tend to be quite involved.

I plan to! If I already have the bulbs from previous projects it will be this spring! I'll look into the type of bulb required when I'm over this cold and back home.

Hi, do you know if it is possible to replace the DRL with LED bulbs?

It is, but some LED bulbs don't play well with DRL resistors since they are often have built-in internal resistance already. When in DRL mode, you may get the right brightness, too bright, too dim, or nothing at all. The DRLs on this Crosstrek are factory LEDs, (it has the upgraded LED/aiming headlights package) so I can't test it myself.

which model Crosstrek, I think the premium has all LED's except reverse and turn signal

I haven't changed the turn signal bulbs to LED yet, but I plan to. They still currently have the factory original bulbs in them.

I don't think I've seen any Crosstreks made in 2018 or newer that don't have that LED brake light, and I don't think I've seen any stock taillights with more LEDs in it than that, so I think there is just the one design.
