Agreed, they forgot to include all the insulation falling out and crumbling dry wall when prying

Yeah, or roofing particles falling all over the bathroom, or, "oh this Panasonic bathroom fan the client bought is too big for where this old HVI fan used to be. Better open up the ceiling. Oh the space between the studs is too small for a Panasonic. Now I'll have to reframe it. And oh, while I'm at it I'll have to get some ventilation taping and a few elbow joints..." lol

Yes but at least it was said simply in under 11 minutes

Lol, yes, the insulation tape alone delayed me by a day. And who would have thought one would have to utterly destroy the housing! Lol!

@@Oh-ou4lp Not only that, they forget the orientation of the exhaust pipe possibly being on a different side of the housing of the fan you've purchased and having to match that up by turning the housing 180° with the likelihood of having to mount the fan with housing on a parallel joist. Also, you have to cut a new opening and patch a hole closed from the old fan opening--- pain in the behind!!!!!!

That only took 59 seconds, very easy, what could possibly go wrong

I should call the video producer and tell them to come setup my fan old fan in that EXACT configuration, so my change out will go just as smoothly so I, too, can only take 59 seconds, rather than an additional day or two of work. I have no idea what's waiting for me in that area of the attic crawl space... a whole lot of blown in installation, central air HVAC ducts, Romex wire runs, joist straps-- God knows what else!

Honestly as a electrician it’s rare to see them this easy usually the bracket it on the bottom of the stud not the side like this so near impossible to remove it without damaging sheet rock

the people who built my house used nails to get the housing to stay in place so now it’s virtually impossible to remove

It’s pretty much the same, just takes like an extra 10 minutes and depending on how old the dry wall is, a substantial amount in your eyes(go for goggles over glasses)

@camaroman101 good advice. I'm doing that atm and I might go get new blades for my Oscillating Multi-Tool

This is really useless. I have a 40 year old bathroom exhaust and I cannot see how it is removed. Frankly, all I want to do is remove the cover so I can repaint the bathroom. There is no clip that I see on the exhaust fan casing. There are no screws. There is (at least to me) nothing obvious to remove. Sure, I can yank on it, and see what happens, but most likely I will just break and have to get a new bathroom exhaust fan whether I need one or not. So sure, this post may help you if there is this is obvious clip this video refers to. But if there is no clip, this video is useless.
