I just bought the same style hoist at harbor freight.. you're the first person that I've run across that posted a video exactly the way I was sketching it out in my head.. was concerned about stress on the stake pockets.. Your video confirms the best and easiest configuration so I do appreciate it..

Very Helpful. I have seen many GMC and Chevys with tank straps that will break if removed. I have always liked the bed removal option for changing fuel pumps. Great video. Keep up the good work.

I had done this quite a while back on my 2002 Silverado, but I needed a refresher for my 1998 since it needs a fuel pump. It just seems easier to remove the bed than actually drop the tank. Especially when it is about 3/4 full of fuel. Thank You Again.

Thanks! You made it nice and simple, highlighting all of the necessary parts! I had a full tank of gas when my pump went out on me. I'm gonna remove the bed and slide it back just a bit. When I get the funding for my LS swap, I'm gonna do an external carb style pump that goes to a sump in the engine bay.

Hey, great video !!! thanks for answering peoples questions too, I was debating how to go about my fuel pump replacement on my 95 Chevy plow truck and you helped me decide to leave the bed in place and drop the tank, even though you did make it look easy.

FINALLY - a video that actually tells you what needs to be done and then shows you. VERY WELL DONE. My only problem is that I have an old U-Haul truck and want to remove the enclosed box from that. I haven't figured out how to lift that size box off the frame. Maybe the Lord will give me an inspiration sometime soon.

Well that looked REALLY easy. I've got a shell on mine. I think it will be a bit more trouble but better than dropping the tank. Thanks for the video.

This truck is so damn clean! I have to replace fuel line I've been under my truck a few times I'm definatly goin to need to use a impact and possibly some heat to remove the bed bolts, I'm hoping I can put a late 80's bed on my truck with no mods.

Thanks for the vid. My issue is the fuel pump; I've taken the fuel tank out before on this same problem (FP) & want a different way. I figure having a solidly held tank is easier than one that's wobbling around when I try to press in the new unit (BTW, I got one brand new for $ 90.00 + S&H where AutoZone is $ 270.00 & Amazon.com is about $ 203.00). One of the benefits I'm looking forward to is the ability to take the truck to the car wash & clean areas that haven't seen daylight for 10 years.

Do this in Northern NY and it's nice to have long sleeves long pants face shield AND safety glasses plus a decent respirator. Reason being you are gonna be catching much of the 20 lbs of rust, crud , dried mud and other debris right in your face. You're going to get dirtier than you ever imagined if you don't have a lift.

Did my buddies yesterday. I handed him the air tools and he did the ugly so I feel your pain........ yea got really lucky though only had to cherry the back too. Remember, if you plan on keeping it a while spend a few bucks. Get in there with blunt air chisel , 4" stainless wheel on grinder and if you have one needle scaler. Knock the flaky stuff off , blow, roll, brush the POR 15 on the frame. It will last for years if it isn't already toast. It's s project though not a day job. Lots of beer decent a compressor are a must. Lots and lots of beer tends to draw the friends then you Tom Sawyer their asses off👿

should come straight down. . we used a 6"wobble extension on impact. rearmost /pair couldn't get good angle on and flex joint wasn't helpful. since it was a today away box being replaced I cut bed open & cherries it. if you haven't done it by now heat it from the bottom it'll come Right out ok. wire loom at least on mine is 3" away from bolt on the inside back inside of the rear bed Cross brace . you should be ok heating that bolt. keep fire extinguisher handy just in case

I have a 95 F250. I sprayed the nuts underneath with Blaster but it looks like it would be easier to grind off the heads inside the bed. I ground one off and the bolt fell down about 2 inches. My question is...will the anti turn part of the bolt (the oblong shape) go through the lower portion of the bed channel or is that just a round hole?
