There are O-rings you can get from McMaster Carr to replace the ones that go bad. A pack of 100 O-rings cast $5. It is VERY EASY to fix the old dried out O-rings yourself.

I love my Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis. Here is the problems. Air Suspensions, Climate Control Unit, Headlight Control Unit, Blower motor . Blower motor resistor , and plastic Intake manifold. Miss anything LOL. Despite all of that I do love these cars.

Air suspension is great and only on the highest trim level crown vic and grand marquis' most don't have it. Air springs cost $100 a pair and take a half hour to change. The climate control unit is a minor issue, blower motors and resistors almost never go out in these, no more than in other cars. The plastic intake manifold was only 1996-2001 or 02 and most have been replaced by now. The LCM "headlight control unit" has been replaced under recall in most by now too.

I recently had the blend door motor replaced in my 2008 Grand Marquis LS. Here's my new problem: the HI-LO dial on the front of my EATC unit gets very hot. Since this only happens after I turn on my headlights, it's obviously a bulb behind the dial. Do you have any suggestions on fixing this? Can the bulb be removed?

bulb replacement? sorry no its not a easy job and no one will do it because its a pain.you can check to see if the hi-lo switch needed replacement. or change out the EATC unit all together.

They always get very hot. This is because ford used huge incandescent bulbs crammed in the tight space of the climate control panel. Having your lights on for more than ~10 minutes will make this area quite warm. You can remove the two bulbs, but it will lose the backlight then. Or you can try to find or custom make an LED solution, which is what I am working on. LED means less battery use, way less heat, and brighter light. Fixing Ford's mistake.

I had a new touch screen radio installed above it could that had led to the eatc module to go out? If so if i replace it will it hapoen again to new one?

You just replace those small little round rubbers inside of the unit..cost you a dollar..lol..and u guys charged for that unit a lot money...lol...I'll do it my self....

+yadira rogers check your fuses make sure there in there correct place both under the hood and under the wheel. another thing I would check is the ac unit installed right? just in case you may want to re check the video on how to remove a unit and just check the back board is place in properly. let me know if it still does the same thing or if its doing something else new the wasn't before.

Vacuum leaking from the actuators inside unit. Easily repaired by replacing the rubber o-rings with new silicone o-rings. There are 4 . After it will be working like new. There's a couple videos on KZbin showing how to take the unit apart and repairing it with a total cost adding to no more than $3 . A pick,a small Phillips screwdriver and a torx bit driver I don't recall size. Oh and a small pair of needle nose plyers.

+John Jackson it could be the following: your low on free on use 134A cancheck compressor relay may need replacing also check the high ac switch and low switch ac switch all four of these thing need to be working in order for your compressor to work.let me know how it works out.

it depends on the car. I cant really give you a number...
