Thank you for your helpful (and reassuringly realistic) video on removing the flow restrictor. If I might make a suggestion, the first and relatively easy step of the process, i.e., removing that little black gasket at the center of the blue plastic piece, is actually all you need to do. It's possible that removing the blue plastic piece completely will increases the water flow even further, but just removing the rubber o-ring alone doubles the flow in my estimation. Even in the very low water-pressure household that I live in, it made a huge difference. This step is also reversible, should you decide someday that conserving water takes precedence over taking more luxurious showers. Again, thanks for your helpful video.

Thanks for keeping it all real time. Good to see that with a little persistence the water flow restricter will come out in less than 10 minutes total. Only thing we missed was the before and after water flow. Also it should be mention that will need to put back the big gasket to prevent water leaking from the handle.

Hi just bought a delta shower head and while in the past had no problem getting the restrictor out the one I got was like the one in your video. I initially didn’t think it would work ( u seemed to be struggling a bit, lol) but did what you did and voila I got the restrictor out using your method! Thanks a lot all good now!

Glad it worked out! I’m definitely not a pro, but hey, it works, so…

Thank you for showing how to get water pressure back at the shower head. Easy fix, for sure. God bless you!😅

This right here. Every other video they just easily pull it out with needle nose pliers. The screw method worked for me finally. Thank you!

Boy, they really don't want people to remove the flow restrictor! Good job

The final removal, the "blue thingy" as you call it, did not change anything.

So when reassemble you no longer use that little washer, right? Just the big one?
@midwesternvideoguy711714 күн бұрын
Try it with and without, maybe without first

Thanks! Should we put the black rubber washer (first part that was removed) back in after removing the blue part?
@midwesternvideoguy71176 ай бұрын
I didn’t and wouldn’t recommend it unless it leaks water after removing the blue part, no matter how much you tighten the connections

If the showerhead has a filter in it will removing the flow restrictor affect the filter? I assume the filter stays in place even thought the flow restrictor is removed??
@Kookamungawerewolf Жыл бұрын
That is one cheap made and cheap looking showerhead. I would suggest drilling it out. The restrictor in my Delta showerhead was in the swivel assembly and I had to disassemble it and drive the restrictor out from the back side with a screwdrver. A long 1/4 in. pin punch would have workrd best.

Maybe use a tool called a curved dental pick and use a longer 2-3" screw
@midwesternvideoguy7117 Жыл бұрын
Yes, might be better with those. I was trying to illustrate with tools most people have readily available.

A longer screw would help

Longer screw and vice grips. 2 seconds and it's out.
@insertgoodname4809 Жыл бұрын
A longer screw maybe? That way you could have just pulled it by hand.
@midwesternvideoguy7117 Жыл бұрын
Good thought, could be worth a try. Not sure how easily it could be screwed in as it might be wobbly. Even if so, you likely cannot pull it out by hand, you’ll still need to use pliers and get some oomph/leverage to pull it out
@fmorriso2 жыл бұрын
The most critical portion of the process is not visible because the shower head remains vertical during that process.
@midwesternvideoguy71172 жыл бұрын
Not sure needs to be visible? Screw in a screw in the middle, use needle-nose pliers to pull it out?
