How to remove a key stuck in a Cadiliac CTS STS DTS or Escalade

I have a 2005 Cadillac SRX it's at the same thing it's been a while that I haven't turned it on and it worked thank you. I noticed some of the comments some vehicles didn't work it could be the year model.

Nice information cuz my key on my 2007 Cadillac cts do that sometime but I turn the wheel back and forth and crack it up in that helps sometime but in case it gets stuck and that don't work I'll try that now .thanks for the tip

Had this same problem and reset the ECM per your other video however when I shut the car down it consistently won’t release the key. Any suggestions? Battery was just replaced less than a month ago.

I have a 2009 cadillac cts4 with a “smart key “ I was driving it and everytime I tried shutting it off , it would only go to accessory mode , so I thought of maybe disconnecting the battery because it would reset it ! NO DONT DO IT ! it then through me in to theft mode , I then was stuck , so I tried puttting it in reverse park then messing with the key out of nowhere it flipped off , my battery was dead of course but it saved me a lot of time if anyone is having the same problem give this a try !

You do not need to charge the battery to get the key out. If you push up it should release.

You have to slide the pin to release key, not just push and it's the left hole.

I got stuck in the middle of traffic when this bullshit was going on before I knew about this video. My battery died in the middle of a busy street, all my windows were up and I couldn’t pull my key out or get the doors open. It was the middle of summer and and I was in there for 15 minutes while people were honking there horn and I’m getting pissed off. This guy tried to jump my car and that didn’t work. Ended up breaking my window to get out. Later I realized I could’ve popped the trunk and pulled the seats down to get out in the back. Fml

Theres a recall on Caddilac ignitions i got a letter in the mail. If you have this problem MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AND CADDILAC WILL EXCHANGE IT FREE!! since its a recall. Had to do it on my 04 SRX!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

My car srx 2008 has that problem too. I called the Cadillac Manufactory & the dealer asked for a recall of key ignition- stuck cant come out... But they said they covered only random VIN #-my car was not on the list of recall.., it's really😂 Ridiculous...
