Ok, gross. But it is gone. I had that for 6 months. It came out as a clean, round, white, (oddly) hard ball. There was very little blood, in fact, the perfectly shaped hole was red and irritated, but only shaped as a place where the ball had come out. It was a bit shocking to see the hole size. It was deep. With a bit of alcohol , I sanitized area. After two days, it was closed. Two weeks later, there was no visible evidence, unless you firmly press on spot and could feel an indentation in the interior. With a little surface skin impact, the procedure has perfect pore retention as an outcome, with no dimple scaring. Had I waited longer, I feel it would not have resolved and may have caused a long term mark/scar. Thank you for this procedure help and chart examples.

Helpful video. Please use a magnifier on the skin so pores/milia can be seen better. I have taken milia out using a sterilized sharp pin head and if you puncture right in the middle, the "pearl" comes right out. Some skins types are prone to blackheads, milia, pimples, etc based on the physiology of the pores/skin. Some of it is due to buildup of skin cells that dont clear well in the pores and block them; that is why exfoliating is so important. Exfoliate, clay masks, and peels are good for oily, blocked skin types.

That’s right! I began developing milia several years ago and I finally went to an esthetician over the summer. She said usually people with drier skin are more prone getting it because the dead skin cells clog your pores if you don’t exfoliate. I know try to exfoliate a bit more often.

Hi Maria -- I've been doing that very same thing for years, accept I just use an oversized sharp sewing needle (that you can buy at any fabric store). Sometimes the 'whitehead' has hardened sebum that has worked its way to the top and I just give it a gentle squeeze and it'll pop out with the puss thats collected under the thin layer of skin. I'm sorry, but I don't think that a person needs to "go see a skin specialist" and pay hundreds of dollars just to remove 'whiteheads'. You can easily remove them yourself with the help of a 10X magnifying mirror (or if you have really good eyesight you won't need a magnifying mirror). Just get a large needle and a cotton ball (or use a small amount of toilet tissue) then soak it in some rubbing alcohol and clean the end of the needle with the cotton ball/tissue, keep the cotton ball/tissue with the alcohol. Then take the needle and pick off the top of the 'whitehead' and if you feel that there's a knot or a bead of hardened sebum (oil) then try giving it a gentle squeeze with your two pointing fingers and it should pop right out at the top. Sometimes there is only puss and you have no sebum. Then take your cotton ball or tissue with the alcohol and go over where the 'whitehead' was located to sterilize the area -- AND THAT'S IT !! You're done! ZERO dollars spent !! Easy-peasy !!

Omgosh! I have been trying to figure out how to get rid of 3 of these for over a year! They are not pimples. Then another very small one started on my chin recently, and I said no way in h*ll am I gonna allow this again! I have pretty much flawless skin on my face *except* for these stupid things. I googled and watched a video and became 100% certain they are milia. That video said there is nothing you can do to get rid of them--they're harmless--but a dermatologist might could remove them. Ha! Not an option for me. I found your video today. Thank you!!! The one on my chin is GONE now, hallelujah! 😁 I need a thicker guage lancet for the rest of them, because the ultra fines are just too thin/fine to work for them. I'll get some regular guage ones tomorrow--then no more milia! Now I'll know what to do if I get another one! Thank you for being willing to share your knowledge with others. You let me know it's not brain surgery, 🤣 haha. Not a big deal as long as we know what we have, and we're clean, careful! Thanks again!

It was stubborn and I couldn't get rid of it so my husband cut it off with a razor blade and there was no pain with a tiny spot of blood. It healed and I forgot about it until it came back up about 6 months ago. Stubborn little spot and felt like a tiny pebble under the skin. I extracted it myself today. I cut the top of the skin and squeezed it out. It was truly like a tiny white pearl. Feels so much better now. I put alcohol and neosporin on it. I hope it doesn't come back a third time! So when you said it was a little pearl I was like oh WOW so they have a name?! I had one under my eye for years and one day it practically popped out by itself. Is there a name the blemish that stays skin colored, is a bump under the skin that can be squeezed with some success but never goes away?

Lancet...in some states it is illegal as it punctures and goes into live skin and causes blood. They can lose their license. Using to heavy oils can cause a millia and calcification. This area of the eye is the thinest skin on your whole body. Using an enzyme product (papaya, glycolic or a dermatologist) could dissolve this slowly without damaging this thin skin.

Thank you for your wonderful demonstration and explanation. However, aren't melia a form of a cyst? They often form a skin "sack" that has to be completely extracted, otherwise, it will come back eventually. Maybe not the newly formed ones. I have one in my eyebrow that may require one sutcher stitch. Do you know if a butterfly bandage would suffice for a 1/4" incision? Thanks again 😷
@AglaiaEstheticsTraining4 жыл бұрын
If it’s a milia, the incision is almost microscopic and you do not need any bandage just some antiseptic. However, you will need to do steps to prevent. See the tutorial below kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3rHiYemesysma8

I am not trying to be disrespectful, but I have to add to the comments. White heads and milia are 2 different things. Milia are not caused by a build up if sebum. It is not a clogged pore. It is a small cyst caused by a buildup of keratin (a protein found in skin) directly under the skin.

Hello Patricia…what you can also do is mild scrub and try not to use too rich products around the eye area with a gentle massage. If they do not minimize, than you will need to remove them by using a lancet and make a small incision and squeeze it out. Let me know how you are doing. Maria xo

Go to a dermatologist! My dermatologist gave me vials with sterilized needles to pick the whiteheads and then gave me dry ice washes on my cheeks and I quit wearing makeup and it cleared up, with no scarring if you follow the instructions on how to pick the pimples with the needles! Facial aestheticians are not for acne, they are for facials, not a medical problem! Sometimes you need prescription products for severe acne, don't pay someone who is not doctor for your face, acne can scar terribly and remember this is your face we are talking about and don't go to a dermatologist or anyone else with acne, obviously if they knew what they are doing they wouldn't have acne! Doctor heal thy self!

Never use tissue or paper towels on the face - they are made of wood fibers that are able to enter the skin which then forms a cyst-like covering. They are not in a pore, the wood is sharp and makes its own hole.

Do you use paper products made from wood : tissues , toilet paper, paper towels, on your face ? Seems like an obvious no-no, right? The "industry" has let us down again with this one by not setting us straight about how facial skin cannot be treated so carelessly. Everyone offers you a tissue when you cry, removing make-up with a tissue is common practice, and use one to "protect your skin from dirty hands while "popping"! You are better off with the old-fashioned clean hankie!
