There is a circular retaining clip in the tube (not shown in this video) in my two Maglites, at the top of the switch assembly. IF you remove it ; then the switch assembly comes out the top, you can easily get corroded/ frozen batteries out. I used a 1" socket and extension with a rubber hammer to drive it out.

B.R. Field how did you get the retaining clip out
@BRField4 жыл бұрын
@@imranescobar6120 Hello, unscrew and remove top of flashlight, unscrew and remove the blub. (Look inside and you will see the retaining ring, but don't remove yet). Then remove the rubber cover over the switch, then use a 2MM allen key to loosen the switch assembly retaining screw. NOW remove the retaining ring (with a flat blade screwdriver) and then switch assembly (push in switch) from the top .

Dude, thank you for the info! My 20 year old 3 battery mag lite had that first battery stuck good. Did your drill thing and out it came. Cleaned it up and running like new! Happy New Year !

I'm curious and going to try a wheel cylinder hone to clearance it a bit. I currently have one that has a crap ton of corrosion.It's basically trash, some i'm just "experimenting". Thanks for the vid Vince. :)

Awesome...great video...I'm about to follow your directions now to attempntobyank a "D" battery out flashlight...illet ya know how it goes...one question if u don't mind kind sir, is it not dangerous to drill into battery? Like it won't burst open or spew acid all in my eyes or something like that? Lol 😧...thanks!!!

Christian Robinson you’ll be fine. You don’t want to really touch the inside of the battery material. It will look like wet sand is the best I could describe it. We’re gloves as a precaution

MagLite should make the light fixture where the light fixture comes out the top, not the bottom. .... so you can get the flashlight down to a tube with your stuck batteries in it. I already smushed the third battery down in it. F oh well.

I'm dealing with this right now...I think it's the choice in batteries not the Maglite...This is the first time it's ever happened to me and I think it's from using cheap Panasonic batteries from the dollar store...I usually buy Duracell...guess I've learned my lesson.

Does anyone use d maglights anymore? There are so many smaller lighter brighter options.
@vinceleto2 ай бұрын
@@HansZarkovPhD I still have a few and I converted the bulb to a LED version. I like that they were made in USA, not sure about the new ones. A smaller lighter flashlight doesn't make nearly as loud a thud when you hit someone with it 🤣

y is it always the last cell...like to c yall try to remove the 1st cell....now that will be a challenge....
@vinceleto3 жыл бұрын
This was the first cell ie the deepest battery. Sometimes it works and sometimes the battery is to far deteriorated and fused in that it won't come out. If you have a better idea please advise.
