I’m doing a 4x4 swap on an 87 Squarebody and this video showed me everything I up close. I’m going to drop my th400 Change the output shaft and add the np208 with the proper transmission crossmember. Very helpful - thank you!

91 was the last year for those square body Blazers, & same with the square body Suburbans & square body crew cab pickups too. Just the half ton & three quarter ton regular cab square body pickups stopped being produced in 87 but the one ton regular cab square bodies on the other hand stayed in production up through 89.

I'm getting ready to do this on my 85 3/4 suburban as part of an NV4500 swap. I think this video is going to be very helpful when I get around to it. Thanks for listing all the steps and the basic order of operation. Looking forward to more videos with the CUCV.

The crossmember for your transfer case has spacers. You had them below and that will cause a vibration

Thank you! I'm gonna be installing my rebuilt 400 transmission into my 1983 Titan Champion RV, with a 454 motor. I didn't remove it, so this video, will hopefully make it easier?

My dad put a Clark 5 speed transmission behind a 453 Detroit it was I think a 77 banaza,one ton. Everybody ask why it could pull anything and outrun them. He had a two speed rear-end.

How do you fix a transmission that doesn't want to shift in to any gear that is on a 84 custom deluxe k10 automatic

Did you fix it? Mine started doing it too 😂

Did you install that double cardan joint on the rear driveshaft because of the angle? I’m thinking of adding mine for this reason and also did you put that spacers on the transfer case mount back under? I saw someone else in the comments pointed that out thanks man

So I need to change flex plate on my 83 k5 do I need to take transmission out completely for that? Should I follow same steps as video..and 1-10 how hard is this for a parts changer not a mechanic
@user-uj3zk2cx8t11 ай бұрын
Yes the flex plate is not accessible without removing the transmission...

Your engine didnt drop a bit? You’re supposed to support the enginr with a jack stand and a piece of wood or something. Not doing can mess up the distributor and put unnecessary strain on the exhaust to hold up the engine.. anyway, thanks for the vid
@OdysseyOverland4x44 жыл бұрын
Did not have any problems. This is a 1985 M1009 CUCV, so it has a 6.2L diesel. Needless to say there is no distributor, and depending on your engine and trans configuration, I think the exhaust has a few ways it can be routed. This is my take on removing a transmission with what I had available, and with my truck's configuration.

Restoring my 86 k10 and I'm having an issue maybe you could help me with...? 86 k10 4x4 305 standard with granny shift. I pulled a 79 Scottsdale 4x4 350 but was an automatic. Dilemma- I'm having an issue trying to initiate the fit it's about 1/2" maybe less to fit into the transmission! My guess is the metal pin (bushing) that fits inside the engine needs to be removed or changed? Any ideas anyone? I've put my truck off for well over a year to work and how I habe the time I'll be working on this through the winter months! Visit my channel to see the video of the truck....
@OdysseyOverland4x45 жыл бұрын
Not too sure there... When you say 1/2" less, what are you referring to exactly?
@combatbeard76435 жыл бұрын
You might be having an issue with lining up of the pins that act as a guide I am assuming? You might need a different bell housing, for the auto, did you change your flywheel over to a flexplate? Not trying to insult, just sometimes people forget.
