I was able to remove it with a relatively cheap adjustable pin wrench with propane torch but it was a little wonky cuz the pins were smaller than 4mm. When it broke loose it made a "Snap" sound it was so tight! Harder to remove than Fork lugs IMO. I'll try a few minutes in the propane BBQ next time to pre heat it. That's a good tip.

you guys are right on w/this ..... all the other dorks heating it up w/a heat gun or a little bit of propane i tore my hair out for awhile ..... the hotplate gimmick is the shzxixxit !!! came right off, coulda used my hands ....the o-ring looks fine .... if u gotta mill, a #4 drill bit fits perfect, hadda 3/4" steel box rod, drill 1.023" apart, fit perfect wrench .....after this, i'm gonna install your subvalve on my AER forks, just got it .... thanks alot

I like the heat plate idea. Since the shock body is going to get hot what are your thoughts on using a toaster oven instead of a heat plate?

Unsure about using a toaster oven. My concern would be the open heating wire / element. This could vary per model/brand. The heat plate I use is about $15 on amazon

Oven of any sort is fine as well. Heat gun is flameless and will do fine job heating the shock body.

You keep mentioning Mapp Gas. Mapp gas has not been manufactured for 40 years. Map Pro in yellow tanks is not Mapp gas. It only burns 100° hotter than propane so perfectly fine to use as well.

Thanks for sharing the correction. I appreciate the insight.

@@RideJBI Thanks for the video. The thread locker they use is no joke. Took some force to break it loose even when heated. Got it though. Installed a killer SS Shrader valve and good to go now.
