It’s called a torx-bit, get a set of smallest ones at hardware store, one should work. Be advised mine came off by lifting straight off hooks, nothing like described in video. Torx bit on mine, FWIW, says S2 T6.

That’s just great, except I didn’t install the bloody thing and wouldn’t have saved the proprietary torx driver if I had, so telling me what size torx bit it was would make your video a lot more useful. Scratch what I just said, mine is completely different from yours and lifts directly upward off of hooks. I want my 90seconds back.

That's fine, you can hold onto the top edge for leverage and then lift up from the bottom. It should still release.

If that's the same as the ring door bell 2nd generation...yes...otherwise, it's unlikely. They seem to change the design with each version. I believe the ring 2 has a slide in battery so you don't even need to take it off at all. Just remove a small cover and that reveals the battery.

However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.

Yes! That's not a big deal if you use a hammer drill. Most drills nowadays have a hammer function and you will then just need a drillbit that is used for masonry work. Took me about 5mins each hole? Not that bad, then I put in the fixings and drilled the screws into the backplate (which has holes ready for you).

You can't do it with the screw on unless they unscrew it so it's a good idea to leave the screws in.

It's registered with ring. If you try to sell it it can be tracked and if U use it it can be tracked. Also...it's a doorbell...U cant really make much money off an old doorbell

@@LetMeFixIT Right, but that wouldn't stop some p.o.s from taking it off. I took a look at mine after watching your vid. The manual that came with it doesn't explain how the mounting/unmounting operates. I learned that there are 2 security screws which must first be removed before the cam can be unmounted as you showed. Thanks a million for your vid. As usual, these manufacturers don't provide enough info. Maybe the proper instruction paper was missing from mine? I will install today. I have a ring, but I only hear the background noise when trying to talk to someone at the door. It's INSANE! I did some testing with my ring yesterday and the audio is TONS better! I can actually hear the outside voice. Thanks again.
