This was an excellent help - thank you. I empty the drain hose regularly but had stayed away from the pump filter as this seemed to be more of a 'big job'. However thanks to you it was a harmless and usefully spent 10 minutes. Also - just as a hint if I may - to drain the small hose I use a 500ml plastic water bottle (one of the square shaped ones) and this is usually large enough to drain in one go , so long as you hold the open end up a bit as the bottle fills up, which saves all that precarious balancing with the tray. Thank you for this video, it's been very useful.

My washing machine started making funny noises. I tried to get the filter cap off but it wouldn't turn all the way. A great way to stop the machine stinking, is to clean out the drawer you put the liquid in, put a towel in that to soak up any water. I put towels in the seal where the water collects where you open the door. Clean the door glass dry too. So that it's a really dry my machine. Since doing this I've never had issues with mold, or smells.if you want to go one step further, you can use a toothbrush in the drawer to clean any mold as I spied a tiny bit of mold where the water jets are. Also, Keep the door ajar until next time you use it. Yes a bit OCD 😊.my beko is 6 yrs old. With a bit of extra tlc it's still like new

The impeller is all part of the pump. Only chance is to dry it all out then try to superglue it back on, else probably need a new pump unit. Good luck

HI, so last night i noticed my clothes were really sopping after cleaning, and realised the drum had stopped turning. I did some research and have arrived here, and am in the process of cleaning the filter.. Annoyingly will have to use pliers as the cap is stuck... Heres my question : even when im done cleaning the filter will the machine start working again ? I have pre drained the water via the black hose ... Thanks. :/
@LurgsHowToGuides2 жыл бұрын
Well it depends. Maybe the filter was blocked or maybe your drainage pump has failed. You won't know till you try another wash. Good luck, hope it's ok
@mostuplifting2 жыл бұрын
@@LurgsHowToGuides thank you. Well its clean now and free from gunk, but unfortunatly i tried a cycle , and just a litte jet of water came out and the drum did not spin. I suppose its time to call in an expert?

You have to weigh up cost of a visit and repair (£60+ minimum) or go for a new one. Depends how old it is.

I definitely have a huge tangle of hair in my filter but I can't pull it out with my hands or tweezers. Do I need a bristle ended hose to get it out or should I just call someone in?
@LurgsHowToGuides2 жыл бұрын
Try cutting it with scissors then pulling out the smaller clumps.

Followed these instructions but the filter is now leaking water when the machine is on a wash cycle - what have I done wrong??
@LurgsHowToGuides9 күн бұрын
Sounds like either debris on the thread or you haven’t tightened it up all the way, it should give a final click when it’s done up properly.

Hi i cleaned everything as per your video aa when on a wash cycle it washes but doesn't rinse and spin and there are loads of bubbles. I can't find a blockage anywhere 😕. Can you help? I have the wtb840e1w. Thank you
@LurgsHowToGuides3 жыл бұрын
It could be a faulty motor then. Might be worth checking the drainage pipework though to make sure that isn't blocked up.

It will be a metal hair clip probably. Keep tightening and untightening until hopefully it falls and clears so you can undo it

Hi my machine is only few months old and I don't think it's washing my clothes good wen they start to dry or go in tumble drier they got a horrible smell on them my washing isn't going soapy even after putting in 3 cap fulls of detergent. Also if I do a 60 wash should my drum be at least warm its stone cold.. Think I've got a problem somewhere I've cleaned out the filter like you done.. Do u have a video to show all packaging out and what hose goes to what 🙈
@LurgsHowToGuides Жыл бұрын
If you do a 60c wash the drum glass should get pretty hot during the cycle, if not then your machine is faulty. The machine should heat up the water to the desired temperature. Do an empty wash at 60c then check drum glass during the wash.

Would the filter catch a 'colour catcher'?. I used one but could not find it with the laundry afterwards.

Yes definitely, they are very common things to find in Filters!
@garyhowlett72572 жыл бұрын
I've checked and it's not there. A bit of a mystery but thanks for your reply.

Oh, could be trapped in the drum rubber somewhere or in a pocket and you hadn't noticed.

@@LurgsHowToGuides No, can't see it in the drum rubber and nothing with pockets in the laundry. Never mind, hopefully the mystery will resolve itself.

Hi could you help me?! I put a wash load on but it didn’t drain so I cleaned out the filter and LOADS of water has came out. But when I unscrewed the cap, I noticed the cross spin bit you can see at the back of the hole has came off and it won’t go back on. Any idea if that’s the cause and how I can get it back on? Would be much appreciated!
@LurgsHowToGuides3 жыл бұрын
Yes that will definitely be the cause as that is the impeller that spins and pumps the water away, without it it’s like an old airplane without a propellor! You could try drying it all out and super glue it back on, but I doubt it would hold, you may need a new pump unit or if the machine is really old then maybe a new machine. Good luck.
@bonnielangham66833 жыл бұрын

My machine is leaking in the middle at the bottom. I've checked the hoses and they are all dry, I've cleaned the filter and that's ok. It did have a coin in it but I removed that and there's still a drip from underneath. Any ideas how to fix this please?
@LurgsHowToGuides Жыл бұрын
Not sure, it could be a leaking drum or a hose underneath. Try and put it on some stilts or a bricks and try to see where it’s leaking. Could be time for a new machine

The propeller of mine was clogged up but I found a black rubber band that does not belong to the filter. I am worrying it came from the pump somehow.
@LurgsHowToGuides2 жыл бұрын
The pump propeller is an electrical motor I don't think there should be any bands or anything like that. If the propeller spins freely and unit is secure then maybe just try it again to see if it works.

At the back there’s like a fan somethings wrapped around it how do I take that apart?
@LurgsHowToGuides Жыл бұрын
Don't take that apart its a sealed unit impeller. You need to get it out, try scissors to cut it and then some tweezers or screwdriver to pull the debris out. Good luck

Hi. The little impeller behind the filter keeps coming loose when I run a wash and the machine won't drain. Do you know what the fix would be for that? Thanks
@LurgsHowToGuides Жыл бұрын
Probably a new pump as it’s one whole unit. Guess you could try drying it all and maybe try SuperGlue. Hope you can get it sorted. If it’s an old machine it may not be worth the cost of a new pump

On my beko washing machine, the little black hose with the bung on has been accidentally pushed back in too far that it has gone inside the washing machine and the whole is too small to get it back (there was no clip for it like in this video), any ideas of how to get it back through the whole?
