This was a great video. I could open and lock my window but My window wasn’t closing at the back hinge side fully creating a big draft. Your video showed me the window basics and I realized the bottom window sash wasn’t connected to its leg in the track. I was able to lift it back in place and get it riding on the track again and now it’s all good. Your video really helped. Thx.

Thank you so much for this video. I know I'm 8 years late but I just bought this house and the windows have this exact configuration. The other videos have two prongs (or arms) or whatever they are called and this model has 3! You have no idea how relieved I was when I saw the contraption used on your sash! I think I screamed.. it's the SAME WINDOW! I saved this link and you can be assured of at least 2 views per year from now on (spring and fall)! Thumbs up!!

Just about to install a large heavy window that would take three or four people as long as the window panes stayed in. Your excellent video has made it possible for me to install the frame by myself and then add the heavy panes. Thank you so much for the help

This is just what I needed. The black plastic guides for my window have gotten brittle and broke apart allowing my window to slide out of the sash. Was very scary, thought my window was going to plummet down three stories.

OMGosh!!!! Thank you! It was so much easier than I thought.. It was perfectly worded and orchestrated, so easy a cavewoman could do it!!! i got high prices from people to come and take it out and get re-glassed...Now just a quick trip to the glass store for them to reseal and re-glass!!!

My black glide thats attached to the top of your window has come un attached and is stuck in the top track and my sash is hanging out of the house at the top. Any idea how to fix this
@brianedward1517Ай бұрын
Get a ladder. Theres enough wiggle room for you to re-attach. While you’re there slide it back and forth and clean the gunk out. Reset it. Worked for me.

I removed this window from the 4th floor but trying to put it back the black lies would not line up it was so difficult is there an easier way to get those black lies to line up every time I tried it would move its original position and then I have to start over do they have any kind of cradle or cart that can hold the window as I'm trying to do this

Easy to do. If you have help Questions I’m trying to find out is my Pella Casements rotted out on my new home. 😡😡 so I’m trying to find a replacement window and sash only and not from Pella. I’m getting conflicting info. I don’t trust Pella despite what they claim is treated wood correction today. Darn windows only lasted about 11 years. I want good fiberglass or maybe a darn good vinyl sash windows that don’t look cheap on my nice home.

Is there any way to do all of this from the inside? My windows our on a very high second story, and there is no way I want to do this on a ladder?
@JasperRGH8 жыл бұрын
Bob Willis you can take all arms off from inside..sash will stay there because it's still attached to the track..just use your muscles
@rronmar7 жыл бұрын
Depends on the size/weight of the operable sash. Could be as much as 6# per square foot... Just remember that the center of gravity of that operable sash is in the middle, so extended it may be 2' or more outside the window opening...This puts you at a horrible mechanical disadvantage to lift and control it when you slide it out of the tracks. One thing they should of cautioned about is to NOT swing the window once the hinge arms are disconnected as the weight of the sash will probably allow the top to slide and disengage the track all by itself...
