thanks for posting this. After replacing mine, I took apart the old one and found its just the plastic knob that has failed (it cracks around the portion where it slots over the selector shaft). I did replace the entire unit, but honestly the old unit still works 100%, just needs either a new knob, or a glue repair.

Assuming you've fixed yours by now, but I had the same issue (apparently it's very common, unsurprising since the piece is so fragile) and simply joined the knob back onto the shaft using cyanoacrylate superglue and so far it's holding.

My light switch worked fine on the test drive. Then before I bought my BMW they took it to fill up gas and for a wash. Purchased it and on the way home realized it was broken. Yeah idk what happened but thank you for the tutorial

I have the exact same headlight. Your video on replacing the headlights helped get them in. But for wiring the CCFL inverter to the parking lights...It doesn’t show that. Any way you could do a video or a diagram on that?

I don't have auto headlight switch on my e90, if I upgraded the switch to an auto, will it work without any problem?

If your car did not have the auto switch, it's probably likely your car doesn't have the sensor installed in the car (which controls when the light turns on/off based on the amount of light it senses). Don't know if the sensor can be retrofitted or if it needs coding to enable sorry.
