I went in for my yearly service and they said my thermostat was worn out and needs changing, bought one and changed it but my heat is the same, its giving little to no heat at all.

What should the price be to do just the thermostat part with everything you mentioned (thermostat, clamps, hoses, intake gaskets)?

book time is 3.0 hrs, so a shop should only charge that. so if the shop is $100 a hr it would be $300 plus tax, plus parts.

Thanks for the comment Bill. It’s been a while since I posted this. I ended up doing it myself. I got quoted 1200$. I bought the thermostat for 300$ I believe. Bought some coolant and sockets. The rest was common tools. I’m in Canada so the numbers might be off.

Oh yeah. Hoses, clamps and gaskets were all in good shape so I didn’t replace. Haven’t had an issue since.

Did this solve the problem? Many gla 250 owners seem to have problem with the waterpump. Vacuum operated Valve of the pump gets sticky and can get stuck. See the videos in youtube with ”gla water pump”

That’s the intake manifold. The thermostat is below it so it’s in the way

Could u please help me there a hose that is probaly6inches long maybe3/8 diameter conects to somthing that ison the bottom of manifold slidesinto slot on bottom of manifold the hose is a shiney harder type rubber and is kinda molded on end maybe a pressure hose i had someone change my thermostate and he broke this hose now my car is taken apart and i dont no what this hose isi hope u can help me cause nobody eles is i can send u picture of hose

My 2014 benz cla250 is at the dealer right now for a leak on the thermostat housing they say part and labor $850 that includes the coolant they have to put on. The part it self is about $185

remember to write all the hoses connect to to manifold, and better use cable hose clamp tool to do the job.
