Great Content! I wonder if I am recording ourdoor, how do i determine the Noise Print? Thanks!!
@FreeToUseSounds3 жыл бұрын
Hi! That depends on the outdoors. If you record in a very busy environment, noise isn’t a problem at all because it’s just too loud. If you are in a quiet forest you will hear really quick what’s the noise and what is not. Try this. If you record this week or later somewhere quiet, turn up the gain of your recorder. If you hear noise, you turned up the gain to high. Lower it until the noise disappears. It’s all about the natural environment. I hope that made sense?

I think the best way to remove noise is through Auphonic.

Yeah its really great but do you know the noise gate too? Is great for hard sound effects. You can find it under Dynamics.

@@FreeToUseSounds Yesss, is the "all in one" panel with the compressor, the expander and the limiter. It's awesome, even though I'm using all the Izotope bundle

How can you remove mic self noise when you cannot tell the forest to keep silent 10 seconds? 😁

I’ve tried izotope Rx7and Adobe Audition and the result is not good at all. I’m seriously considering upgrading to the Zoom F6 you use with the Audio Technica bp4025 to be able to record quiet sounds of nature. Can you give me some advice an all this also if noise reduction can help removing mic self noise. About buying the Zoom F6, what affiliate links do you have in Europe (I’ve seen a good price in Thomann) about the mic: do you have any videos about what is the best wind protection for it (not talking about strong winds like in Island of course).

@@devanois Alright here is one thing I can tell you about my experience. If I record in nature or cities, I almost never process these files and keep them as original as possible. The microphones I'm using are pretty good and I rather record lower then bringing in noise to the recordings while adjusting the gain/fade. But that's just me. Oh yes the Rycote BBG is great for that microphone but if you like to get really serious check out the W4. Its more pricey but it's really good for that mic. Here is a link to the official Rycote site and about the Audio Technica 4025. mymic.rycote.com/devices/at-8022-bp-4025/. No worries about affiliate link. You buy it there where you get the best deal. Thomann is great. I bought the BBG there and had no issues.

@@FreeToUseSounds Hi again. I finally got my zoom F6 (from your affiliate link) and the bp4025 from Thomann. I’m happy because it is quality stuff. I’m waiting now for the Rycote WS3 kit (the Ws4 seemed too big for this mic, maybe I just shoot my foot not ordering the bigger one but who knows when I could invest in another mic that requires a larger windscreen..., besides this one that I’m waiting for is more portable and slightly more discrete, if you can call this kind of stuff discrete 😄). In short, that I’m so thankful to you for your recommendations and almost ready to get outside and record sounds. Now I face other difficulties of a technical matter: such as what kind of phantom power for the mic 24 or 48?, or what is the trim setting for and when to use it (things I never questioned before with my old portable recorder), or how to adapt the mic to the ⅛” bolt of my tripod... If I’m lucky that you see this comment and you have time, I’d be very grateful if you could add an affiliate link for the Sony headphones MDR-7506 for Amazon in your gear list (the one for the F6 worked like a charm for Amazon Spain which is the store I use). By the way I’m curious about why you use the Audio Technica ATH M30X instead of the higher quality? Sony. Cheers and thank you for your reply. All the best.

@@devanois Hi! That sounds awesome and so glad to hear that. Right now, Libby and I working on the next video for Sunday. It's about how I create sound libraries and what's important to me. You might enjoy that. About the microphone, PP is 48 :).. I think you mean 3/8? Oh yes, I think you need the 1/4 to 3/8 adapter. About the link, you can use any link because of the 24-hour cookies. if you use a link and you buy the MDR it will still count. Thank you but we don't have Amazon Spain linked with our account. We did it in the beginning but they closed the account because you need to reach a certain amount of sales in a month. If not then they close it. Yes, the Sony is great but I never liked the cable. After this headphone broke I was in a music store and they only had the M30x or the $299 M70X option. I know the frequency range of the M70 is much better but it a lot of money and if I break it, that would hurt a lot.
