@@CreativeGoodman hello there you’ve just gained yet another subscriber that is blown away with your this video tutorial wow I’ve never seen anyone make a video tutorial of Affinity photo for iPad that even comes close to this one. I purchased Affinity photo and Designer for desktop and iPad. I don’t understand why they haven’t made there apps cross compatible for desktop and iPad compliant whereas being able to to edit on both versions as Lightroom and Photoshop are. Thanks again I look forward to seeing all of your amazing video tutorials now.

Apologies for my delay in replying, as I'm just seeing your comment now. Thanks so much for your comment, encouragement, subscribing and kind words! I really appreciate it. It would be good, as you say, if the apps were cross-compatible with the desktop versions, hopefully, they are working on this :)

Cool tutorials Andrew :) Btw, i have few questions..i'm considering to purchase an ipad pro for my daily work as a graphic designer., can an ipad pro replace a laptop in term of graphic design?. Can AP work together well with AD like adobe photoshop and illustrator?
@CreativeGoodman2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment Adhitama! Those are good questions... "Can an ipad pro replace a laptop in term of graphic design?" - I had a good think about this, and my answer would be yes it can... but working on the iPad only does take a little bit of time to get used too... my Mac died last year and I had a 3-month wait till my new Mac arrived so in the meantime I worked entirely from my iPad and love it, but it did take a little time to get used too. There is also some work arounds needed i.e. sometimes I need to make animated GIFs, so I designed them on AP iPad and then had to bring them into another app (Procreate) to animate it. In a video coming soon, I designed my daughter's birthday invite in Ap iPad so check that out too as it shows you can do this work too in AP iPad. "Can AP work together well with AD like adobe photoshop and illustrator?" - Yes it can! You can save and export in all different file types and import them into those apps (and others) very easily. I hope this helps you or if you have more questions just lmk :)

I make mobiles and need to have white backgrounds. After multiple attempts to remove the background to white it always has fuzzy grey stuff around my steel rods. I wish someone could help me figure out consistent settings for my products and white backgrounds

Hi Andrew, another really helpful video. With the new ‘pluck’ selection that iOS does with pulling a foreground object out of a photo, do you think it is worth starting with that first and pasting that as a layer into Affinity Photo, or at least seeing what sort of a job it does, to save even more time?
@CreativeGoodman Жыл бұрын
Good question Michael, I've used that 'pluck' a few times now and its good fun and impressive, but I wouldn't use it for a 'professional job' if you know what I mean, amazing for doing something quick tho! :)

Great video and really helpful. Looking forward to seeing the video about masks and helping to understand them.

Hi Ben, thanks for your comment and glad you found this video helpful. I am currently working on the next 5 of 6 videos and then the masking video will coming out after these videos. So it will probably be 3 or 4 weeks before the masking video is live, will be putting a lot of work into that one and hopefully will be explaining it in good detail but easy to understand too :)

Affinity Photo isn’t in any of my share sheets including the expanded selections. Any ideas on how to remedy this? I know I can work around it but it’s very frustrating.
@CreativeGoodman2 жыл бұрын
If I understand you correct Terry, do you mean if you 'tap' while on a photo/image and then hit 'share' AP isn't appearing? If that's the case, after hitting 'Share' move right to the end of the apps on the top row and hit 'more' (3 dots icon), then 'edit' (top right) and then hit '+' beside AP and that should be it :)
@terry.stafford2 жыл бұрын
@@CreativeGoodman Thanks. Yeah, I keep trying that and it isn’t there to add. I can’t figure it out.
@CreativeGoodman2 жыл бұрын
That’s an odd one Terry, I just tried it myself and it works fine for me… not sure why it wouldn’t for you… my guess is that’s it’s a iOS issue more than AP… are you on the latest version of iOS?

Hello Andrew Thanks again for the tutorial. Quick question, alike you I am a long time PS user and wanted to know if you knew how to copy and drag on the same layer in AF. For me it only copies on a new layer! Secondly do you know to perfectly select objects on a layer alike alt / ctrl select in PS for an exact selection without the need to brush select tc… thanks for your help
@CreativeGoodman2 жыл бұрын
So sorry for my late reply Alex, am just seeing this now. The answer to your first question, if am understanding right (which I might not be i.e. how to copy a new layer into itself?) it can't be done or at least not to my knowledge sorry. The second question I am actually covering in a video coming out tomorrow :) But in short, select layer in selections persona, click 3 dots in menu and selection from layer, hope this helps :)
@alexdecret14202 жыл бұрын
@@CreativeGoodman hey Andrew, no worries on the response delay! Yes you understood what I meant. Unlike ps where you ctrl alt to copy in the same layer not possible in AF! Also in ps if you ctrl click a layer it selects everything on that layer! It would be handy in AF, do you know how to achieve the same . Love your videos!! It’s like church!!! Best

Hi Andrew, I intended to use the Smart Selection tool in conjunction with the pen tool. Use the Smart Selection tool to select a rough outline and add detail to selection area using the pen tool. But the trouble I’m facing is that every time I add an area drawn by pen tool into my current selection area, it deselect current selection. Leaving only the new area selected. Pls help me on this.

Hi Yinfeng and thanks for your comment... it just so happens the video I hope to edit and release on Monday covers this exact thing! It's on 'Sky Replacement' but it deals with this very thing, lmk on the comments on that video if it helps or if you still are having probs :)

You need to make your videos much, much shorter. If you need 22 minutes to describe how to remove a background in Affinity Photo, then you need to reconsider if you’re fit to make tutorials at all. To describe to remove the background should take you max 3-5 minutes.
