Like everyone else has said, you should definitely try to avoid this when building the wall itself. I’ve always been told that a job is never complete until your area and the work itself is clean and tidy. Just saves you time and looks better overall.

Best way to get rid of cement is when it’s still wet. Use a large sponge and bucket of water for the sponge. Wipe the cement off the brick in stages as the cement hardens.

My friend you are sadly mistaken you should not have to do this simply clean the brick as you go with a masonry broom come back one pass with a simple diluted muriatic acid wash and a light scrub and your brakes will look flawless now about those tuck points that is a whole different story good luck my friend and God bless

God bless you I would add first step is to wet brick', then acid let sit 10 mins. Rinse, protect skin and eyes. Good to see 2 years later and Thinking we both know God here soon

another method is to use steel brush attachment for angle grinder. Grinder has rpm up to 11000, best to use variable speed grinder, so it is faster than 3000rpm of drills. Do not use at 11000rpm, rather try 5000. Advantage is steel brush has more surface area, you can press on it and more powerful than drill.

Wire brush and water, 100% effective and scrapper for uneven lumps of mortar..then once dry if greying then vinegar a treat...do not use muratic acid.... honestly 99.99% everything gone with good old hand held wire brush, water and the principal of friction...

Well you know basically that's your fault because you should have been a little bit more neater when you were you know when you did the brick work you know easiest way that you should have cleaned it off is after you finish doing what you were doing and then with that brush and stuff that would have took it off because it still would have been a little wet and then all you had to do was just spray it to get the residue off so basically you just made your own job harder

People tried to do it themselves as much as possible to save money you shouldn’t judge. Yes hiring a professional would be easier and more efficient but some don’t have the money for that luxury. He’s trying! 👏🏻
