Thank you for actually showing your failed attempt. Too many videos make things look like the easiest thing in the world but then it doesn't go like they showed at all. So thank you for being real with it!

Just pushing the bricks into the ground, not lifting the post. Put a piece of 2x8 under those bricks.

Really great idea, just need a better jack and use 2 clamps on that post would help them not slide as bad.

I have 14 to pull in the next 2 days. I'm definitely trying this!

How did it go for you? Worth it?
@miles573 Жыл бұрын
@@amycomber62 It worked out great. Pulled 10 posts, 8 came out easily, 2 were a bitch but they came out. I'd definitely use this method again.

That'll work in the absence of a better way, like a lifted jeep/truck with a winch on the front, a loader tractor or skid loader with either bucket or forks, a wrecker boom, etc. But for using what the average person has in the garage your way gets it done for those 6" creted holes!

Bolts don't hold that strap If it's in concrete

Just use a 2 ton car Jack. No need to wet the ground

That's amazing! I just want to double-check: your fence post was set in concrete, and you pulled up the post in the concrete?
@Jdogg5698933 жыл бұрын
You are correct!

Follow up: My fence guy had 2 bent posts to straighten (for an old 4’ chain link fence). He could not lift one out with his helper and a farm jack. So they pushed on it and voila, it straightened! They pushed on the other post and it snapped off and broke, so they ended up placing a new post next to that one. (They were bent by the tree guy who didn’t bother to un-hitch his stump grinder from his truck). Anyways this project was, as I suspected, out of my purview.

These aren't in cement, correct?
@pinkpowerrangerpv Жыл бұрын
Was your post installed with cement? Doesn't looknlike it was. Hmm... I'm dealing with cemented in fence line.
@Jdogg569893 Жыл бұрын
Sorry for the slow response. They were cemented in. As long as you get the ground moist, it should come up!

Is it possible to reuse those poles?

Honestly, I have no idea. I suppose few good whacks with a sledge hammer would remove the old concrete and good as new.
@sgt.hollowpoint69682 жыл бұрын
Yes, use a concrete breaker.

Wouldnt it just be easier to dig them up.
@Jdogg5698933 жыл бұрын
Sure it'll work, but this is to do it with minimal effort. You're gonna work a lot harder if you dig em up. Ya gotta work smarter, not harder!

I was looking at how to remove chain link fences from my pictures, not entirely remove them. No wonder why I've been sitting here for 15 minutes trying to understand this.
