How To REMOVE Chrome Windshield TRIM - Ford Bronco

Finally figuted out how to remove the windshield trim on the 1993 Ford Bronco. Proceedure would be the same for many many years of Ford Trucks, Bronco, F150, F250, F350. Other makes and models use the same style clips as well.

thanks for the video...the local glass shop wouldnt put a windshield in this 89 full size bronco because of the trim...to hard for them. good god 7 dollar harbor frieght tool and 15 min. ill be buying my glass somewhere else now.

Not positive but from removing clips off a Ford without molding I believe that the tool is intended to catch the center of clip above the post and lifted up away and off the post .peace

On a Pinto there's a Philip screw on each bottom corner of the trim holding the trim that runs along the bottom of the windshield. remove the side trim to get at them.

Windshield wiper trim clips? If not LMC Truck (which is what you were looking at) Bronco Graveyard or NPD (National Parts Depot) may have them. Otherwise like you said, possibly salvage yard.

Give me September, October and November anytime over this heat crappola... Had a friend back in the day just taped around the windshield and didn’t do a good job at that. Didn’t paint the inside and around the doors. When it got painted.... it showed. All this tedious prep will make the truck stand out. One can tell who put the time and effort in a job like this. Jessie stared at you... “keep it moving”. Looking forward to the paint. Stats bring it back to life. Saturday, C-section on mama boxer. 4 Flashy, Brindle girls. Glad that’s over. What was your source for the replacement clips? I have a 93 Mercury Tracer, same as a Ford Escort, and I think it uses the same windshield trim.

I couldn't locate those plastic clips separately either for my 93 F150 which are the same as for the Bronco, fortunately the old ones were OK. Those lower clips offered by LMC are the hard to find metal clips that I needed to replace because the old clips had completely rusted out. Just know that the metal clips for the bottom molding are a special design and are not the same as the clips required for the top and the sides which are easy to find just about anywhere. Be real careful when removing and installing the trim because it's made of soft aluminum and easily bent or dented. One more thing, don't bother trying to polish the molding; there's a plastic coating on them that prevents you from doing so. If shine is what you want, just figure on putting up the bucks for new repro stuff as original molding would cost like hell if you could locate it.

P.S. I'll bet someone at the shipping warehouse loved that color and had a "convenient accident" and got the paint for free. See, after a package gets damaged, the shipping company puts a claim into their insurance company, the insurance company pays the claim and tells the shipping company to dispose of the item(s), then the guy at the shipping company "retrieves" the item(s) before they reach the dumpster. A lot of times it's the same guy doing all three jobs (damage, claim, retrieval).
