8 inch bearing puller works great without damaging housing.

Thanks! This helped me get it out. I got my new one, how do I get it back on?

Picked up a barn find cart the other day, the rear wheels will not roll, it is a older ezgo txt without a tow switch. I initially thought the motor must have been locked up as my other txt rolls fine in neutral. However with the motor unmounted and the wheels on the ground I can rotate the motor around the armature. Not sure what the deal is at this point. It basically just clicks when you press the pedal. Can you jump 36 straight to the motor to test it thus bypassing the rest of the system?
@MadeEasyChannel Жыл бұрын
Yes you can, it should spin, but it depends if you have shunt motor or series motor. You can jump it on series motor
@kaptkrunchfpv Жыл бұрын
@@MadeEasyChannel I jumped it and it would hum, if I rolled the wheel it would roll a little. I took the motor off today and took it apart. The brushes are stuck, i think it was in a flood. Oh btw, thanks for the tip on using a bigger hammer to remove the com. Thats exactly what it needed! Thanks again! Going to replace the bearing and com end.

@MadeEasy With the snap ring on the inside of the motor housing, how to you get the shaft of the commutator into the bearing after you install the bearing into the housing and reinstall the snap ring? Any tips?
@philp77582 жыл бұрын
I would recommend using a dead blow hammer to reinstall.

Brushes are sparking after replacing and loose power once I get to 20 mph any ideas?

Before replacing, what was the sound/noise you heard? I think I'm having the same issue because I swapped out both axle bearings and seals and I am still hearing the same grinding noise. Also does it matter about the number on the bearing? Or are the commutator bearings all the same?... Thanks for the vid
@MadeEasyChannel3 жыл бұрын
The number matters, I bought a commutator bearing and it came in really small. Make sure you look at the numbers that you have and buy the same one

The sound was "scraping and grinding" I could not tell where it was coming from. To I took tho motor out and rolled my golf cart back and forth and the sound went away. So I knew it was the motor making that sound.

@@MadeEasyChannel My golf cart barely moves, shakes real bad when trying to give it pedal. You think it is this bearing? I have tried many things already
@MadeEasyChannel3 жыл бұрын
@@LPDMFLA turn the cart off and try to push it. To see if there is a lot of resistance. You could have worn out brushes or damaged wires
@freemurray3 жыл бұрын
grinding can also be the wheel hubs(there are splines in the middle that wear out) also there is a bearing at the top of the rear end (part the motor actually connects) and since its so high up it doesn't get the oil like it should. Its best to replace that entire part ($60) and add lucas gear oil to keep it from happening again

I have an 05 PDS EZGo, trying to replace the brushes, but can't figure out how to separate the armature from the end cap as it came out as one piece & I need armature separate to remove brushes studs. Hoping I don't have to remove the speed sensor in the end in order to access anything to remove/tap out armature. Any ideas?
@paulmains36172 жыл бұрын
yes that is the piece that you remove.... getting it back on is the hard part. dont beat on it. if you damage the end the bearing rides on you will be buying a new motor.
