Excellent step-by-step video. I was originally thinking of taking it to a shop to have the idler pulley replaced but after watching your video I decided to do it on my own. I was able to remove the deck very easily and cleaned both sides as there was quite a bit of built up, as I never had it cleaned before. I also plan to sharpen the blades while I am doing this repair as it makes sense to address it now. You saved my day! Thank you!

I just bought a 13 year old cadet, and the only thing I have to do is go through the deck. I can go out there now and do it with confidence. Thank you so much for making this video. Have a great day.

God bless you sir! I'll be getting my first Cub Cadet in the next few days and to be honest it's going to be my first piece of machinery which I'll be taking care off just by myself which I'm really excited about but also a bit nervous... So far I've been watching the oil change video and 12 tips on when the tractor won't start up and let me tell you... Even though I'll be getting a different model with Briggs and Stratton engine I'm more than happy to see atleast how these basic mechanical actions are done so I'll have much easier time figuring it out by myself on mine tractor. This content is very helpful especially for young people like me! So again, thank you sir!

Thanks Jim !! I figured it's was an easy process. I live in ohio, and just bought an Aronald 46" plow and set of wheel chains to plow my small driveway! I'm not going to chance smacking the deck on anything, or bottoming out in the snow! Heading out to the Garage now to follow your steps.

You left out a few steps that may be on some versions of the ltx 1046 like on mine 1) Spindle covers with built in belt keepers need to be removed. Three 1/2” bolts each. 2) there’s an idler arm safety interlock cable and spring attached to the arm that needs to be detached before the deck can be pulled from under the mower. There’s a two piece ferrel at the anchor point at center rear of the deck. It’s held together with a “safety pin” type retaining pin and can easily be removed which allows the spring to be unhooked

Sorry I did not know, this was my neighbors mower, just went by the manual.

When replacing the deck, you should remember to make sure the belt protecter rod is in the slot on the pully before you tighten it.

Numerous mistakes but the main one is don’t wash the deck. Water is a bearing killer. Second only to no grease in bearings. Scraper and air compressor or blower or anything except water
