this really works. i tried it twice with an extremely hair black dog blanket. i would love to know the estimated time frame you let it run in the dryer prior to putting it in the washer machine for folks like me with old school washer and dryers with no digital settings, just knobs.

That looks fine, but the dog hair we have experienced, a sticky roller will not pick off 50% of the hair, so we are looking for a better way, and the hair you are showing is on top of the material. I can see if I went over your example I would get 95% of the hair with the roller. However dog hair weaves itself into the material, and I am talking high quality, synthetic material, your remedy may work on hair as you show it, but after two days of visiting with relatives with a golden Lab, it is super difficult to remove hair with a sticky roller ,or a hand held battery vacuum, of which works the best of the two, but cannot get all of the imbedded hair. We do not like the idea of putting dog hair through the drier, or washer. But will give it a try after next visit with the doggy household.

Yes, I have this same issue too. My dog's long hair is exactly as you described - woven into the fibers of so many of my clothes at this point that even a lint brush, heavy tape, lint vacuum, etc. will not remove it! I wish I had an answer for both of us. Just wanted to commiserate with you because your comment reminded me so much of what frustrates me every single day! 😩

I put a wet tennis ball in my dryer, and it collects the fur.
@m.e.36142 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing. This seems rather gross though. Putting dirty sheets/clothing into the dryer seems to me that it would only contaminate the dryer with germs so that when you finally put fresh, clean ones in - those will end up contaminated as well. Not trying to be a germaphobe, but to me the joys of clean sheets and clothes is that they are completely clean and have not rubbed around against something that has had a bunch of dirty things rubbing around inside of it prior. But if it works for you and you are ok with it, then that is what matters.

Also won’t the heat kill any germs
@m.e.36142 жыл бұрын
@@tearrasamuels465 I have thought of that, but I am not sure how to determine if the heat is strong enough. I am not sure that dryer heat is that strong?
@lisettemarinoff9295 Жыл бұрын
@@m.e.3614 You're right, it typically isn't hot enough, unless it specifies it is so. Like my dryer has a setting called "Sanitize" that gets so hot that it actually does help kill germs, but the setting takes more than 2x as long as a regular dry cycle and I assume so much more electricity too. I also question what that level of heat would do to our clothes if we were to use that cycle on them regularly... I've only tried it out maybe once on sheets/bedding...
@lisettemarinoff9295 Жыл бұрын
@@m.e.3614 I'm also so glad someone else commented what I was thinking throughout this video. I love the idea of finally getting rid of the dog hair that plagues my daily existence; however, the germaphobe in me would feel far too uncomfortable putting dirty clothes in the dryer that is typically used exclusively for laundry which has been thoroughly cleaned. I suppose until I find a better trick, I guess I'll still be wearing my dog's fur on my clothing - but at least it will be clean dog fur! Hahaha 😂
