We have 2 dogs. One is a hairless dog. Its an African Sand Dog. Her name is Freakazoid and she is 11. Needless to say she's my favourite house pet 😜 she does leave brown dust / dry skin marks though so she has designated blankies in her favourite spots. Our second dog is a rescue puppy. His name is George and he is 6 months old. His mom is a Yorkshire Terrier but because she was a rescued stray (rescued already pregnant) we don't know what his dad is. He looks nothing like a Yorkie. He has wiry medium length hair but doesn't appear to shed much (I would see the hair in our washing machine because he's a cuddle monster and is always on our beds or laps).

Clean My Space I have 3 dogs. Baby is a Brussels Griffon, Teddy is a Pomeranian, and Monster is a Terrier mix. Baby just loves laying with his dad and being petted is his most favorite thing. He is 7 years old. Teddy loves his squeaky toys but ruins them fairly quick. Lol and Monster is a mama's boy. All he wants is to be with me lol so that means he follows me to the kitchen and ever bathroom lol. Both Teddy and Monster are 3 years old. I have a cat as well. His name is Beerus. I'm not entirely sure what breed he is honestly but he is 1 year old and very playful. He loves to play with Teddy and Monster. And last but not least, my fish. I have a 75 gallon tank with 4 fancy goldfish. They are the cutest things in the world. I've had them for 3 years now.

My cat Daisy is 62 years old in cat age. She adopted me. I was outside in my patio and she was wondering around and just jumped into my lap. Come to find out...she was someones pet and they got tired of her and just let her go and fend for herself. Maybe she could tell I would take good care of her.

Margaret Modrovsky My one cat that is no longer with us met me like this. I moved to Florida alone & a couple weeks later a black cat shows up. Didn't feed her for awhile assuming that she must belong to a neighbor. When she didn't leave, I got some food & with some patience I was able to pet her. Luckily, I worked at a vet's office & was able to get her checked out scanned, then chipped since I could not find where she came from. She was very timid with new ppl, but once she trusted you there was no turning back from her love. I feel like the timing was perfect, as if she was sent to me in my time of need, as well as hers.

Two black cats, Sammy and Moose. Both a little over 2 years old, they were born 3 months apart and are both rescues. We went with the black cats because the shelters have the hardest time getting people to adopt them because people have a ridiculous notion that they are bad luck. We love our two crazies!

We use unscented wood pellets from Tractor Supply.ours are 50 pound bags. It's easy to scoop out and when urine gets onto the pellets they turn to sawdust and I put them into my flower garden . Makes great mulch.

With our large cat family the only thing that I can do daily is use small wet dry vac I've tried those liter mats "but" unfortunately they were just a big mess and big hassle to clean for us our fur babies didn't like them but maybe they might work out better for someone else's situation. I have 3 female dogs (!), our house is a happy and a full one, but requires a LOT of effort to keep it clean. I found yous tips really helpful and may I add 2 more..? I am not sure if the first stands for cats as well, but I believe so. 1. Make sure that their diet consists of excellent quality food. That will be expensive, but will reduce hair flow 50%, as one of the reasons they shed too much hair is lack of vitamins. 2. Have their hair cut at least 2 times a year during spring and summer months.

I have a German shepherd called Valentine, she's 8 and my whole world. She sleeps with her paw over her nose sometimes. We need to have dinner and showers by 6 on a Sunday night so we can go to bed and she comes up on the bed, which she does for an hour or 2 every night anyway, to watch the American football! I'm so glad I have a large lint roller. She absolutely loves it and she loves going into my local town on the bus. She's my princess and I cherish every second that I have with her. We lost our boy Kashmir last year to epilepsy and he was only 4. He was also a German shepherd, miss him every day. He was the happiest, joyful dog on the planet and losing him has taught me to really appreciate everything you have. This is the first time in 16 years we've only had one dog but she is thriving and we're enjoying spoiling her xxx

Lily is a one year old bichon frise. She doesn't shed and is hypoallergenic. Although, she doesn't exactly like to be brushed as she doesn't have fur and she can get quite matted. She's really funny when it comes to say "bye" to daddy when he leaves for work. We have a high window and she knows that as soon as he leaves she's barking and running and getting my attention to say, "pick me up, we have to say bye to daddy!" So, I do! Who ever leaves she wants to be up to say goodbye! I love it!

What brush do you like best for your cat. The one I have Sox hates. However he does lime being groomed. Just doesn't care for the brush we use.

My brother bought a WASHABLE LINT ROLLER from ikea! You can run water over the sticky roller after use to rub the hair off for disposal. Then you can use it again. More economical and environmentally friendly, I think :)

I have 1 cat (a black short-haired 16 yrs old) and a Maltese dog (6 1/2 yrs old). I absolutely adore both of them but the Maltese is happily shed-less. I had 2 Shih tzus (10 and 9 yrs) also until about a year ago. That breed is also shed-less. I wasn't "looking" for shed-less when I rescued them but my goodness, is it fantastic??!! You can't help who you fall in love with so if they had fur/hair falling off of them left and right then I guess I would have to deal with it. I have used the squeegee for the cat hair on my couch, bed, etc. and it WORKS so well. I'm going to get that mega roller in your video too. It looks like a sure winner!

I hate lint rollers that have the tear-off sheets because even though they work, I have to go through so many. I really stand behind a lint roller that I found in the fabric store--but I found it on Amazon (US) under the name "ChomChom Roller - Dog Hair, Cat Hair, Pet Hair Remover" I still have to get the finer hairs with the other lint rollers, but it gets a vast majority of them. And I have four cats in a small house--Zeus a black short-hair (17), Boof a long black and white kitty (10), Miss Radke a loooong hair brown tabby (9), and Boogey a black and white long-hair (unknown age--youngest, though). Boof, Miss Radke, and Boogey are all from separate litters of the same mother--a stray that showed up at my parents' and had multiple litters before she was tame enough to get her to the vet for spaying. Boof and Boogey look very much alike. (Zeus and Boogey are from siblings who have spouses and kids allergic to cats.)

She actually sheds more the closer it get to winter and less almost no shedding close to summer. She will actually shed so much before winter that it seems she has almost no hair and will fluff up at the beginning of spring

KITTY TIP: The Furminator grooming tool is also great at pulling up embedded cat hair from plush/pulled blankets and ESPECIALLY cat trees!! (The carpeted or fleeced ones) I use it on non-looped carpets in corners where the vacuum just won’t do the trick. Rubber is good, but it’s got nuthin’ on the Furminator!!😸

Who would have thunk it :) they have short hair on their pudgy, wrinkled bodies...why O why do they shed sooo much?? Now he is soon to be 5, the shedding doesnt bother me as much as initially. Cats! Frisky and misty! The loveliest and cutest cats around! Plus Frisky is very willing to please (more than half the time) so I trained her to do a few things a dog would do. I trained them both to come when I whistle and me and Frisky are always hanging out so me and her make up games to play and I teach her a few tricks. Sometimes she is ignorant and so I turn it into a game. On the count of three her eyes go big and she gets in her pouncing stands and by the time I hit three, she's doing what I want her too. I can tell she's knows it's a game. I play hide and seek with her, and I trained her to jump on her tower whenever I say "Frisky, up!". She has now learned that up means basically on anything but she mainly reacts only by the way she was originally trained. I talk to her all the time and sometimes she responds vocally and other times it's in action. She's just like a dog but I believe she learns faster than most. She follows me all around the house and constantly wants attention. Her nick-name for me is mama. Misty is a bit more solo. She loves attention but she loves being alone most of the time. She sheds a lot and conveniently loves to be groomed. She loves to eat and she shows it. That is part of the reason why she sheds so much. I know you said to right about my pets but you probably didn't mean to write a book. I'm sorry but I love to talk about them because they are my life!

I have a house full of cats: orlanda,kat,pepper,nix,tipper,shanna,tux,brother,digits,hemingway,snowy,red,susie,jack,ryan,scooter,grisom,lucky,beauty,cesar,alfraido,missy,gigi,dexter,grayson, peggy and noname. I think that the group. I sometimes am at the vets several times a week. I go thru about 2 tons of cat food a year and copious cans of food and treats. I have several polydactils, 2 one eyed kids and a bay with a birth defect whose back legs do not work (scooter). My day is filled with lots of pet work. no I am not a rescue person I just take care of my kids. Some people do drop off not wanted and they find their way here. It's a real hoot at snack time . I've trained them to come home with different sounds. some are inside onlys and others go outside and need to be home before dark. Love your videos and cleaning info. congrats on the baby.

I was SO surprised that you were once a cat hater!! I’m a huge catlover & I can’t remember how young I was when I knew it! My mom says at age 5 I began begging for a cat! It was under 2 weeks after I had my own place, that I got a cat! I had her for 20 years & the cat I got for her as a friend lived with me for 21 years!! I have not been without a cat as an adult! Currently have only one cat. She showed up one day. We named her Gracie. I say by the grace of God she found me and vice versa. When I took her in I had two other cats, Maia and Skylar. Sadly those two have gone on to the Rainbow Bridge and now it is my tortoiseshell cat girl only. She hides when people come around but loves her human dad and mom. My other cat Maia would come running whenever she hear me tearing off a pice of the lint roller. She loved to have me "roll" her.

Hi Melissa! I have 2 amazing cats (obviously, I'm the cat whisperer) named Clark and Dexter and 1 bird named Chimo. They're soooo soo smart I can't even tell. My neighbours are always chasing theirs as they come every day to my yard, but mine remain in our garden and come at first whistle. This is the power of love and patience and if a cat feels safe and cozy at home he'll never want to leave. Sometimes people have cats because "it's less work than dogs", and I always answer them: all the work you save, as you don't have to take them out for a walk 3 times a day or wash them every week, you must invert it in creating a bond and teach them, because maybe they learn slower than a dog, but they learn! and when they do it it's the most satisfying thing in the world as they do this special thing with you and no one else! My special advice regarding pet hair is selecting wisely when you buy clothes. EVERYTHING catches pet hair but there's some textiles that are easier to get free of hair or that catch less hair than other ones. Great video as usual!

I have 2 dogs, a Maltipoo and a German Shepherd (AKA German Shedder). I tackle my shepherds fur like a mad woman (everyday) and I vacuum first, then swiffer. I will wet swiffer for spot cleaning purposes, if needed. I also have 8 guinea pigs, but they have their own room. I don't have to deal with fur from them, but the dust from the bedding and hay drive me nuts. I switched to fleece, and that cut down a lot on the dust. Plus I have an air purifier for that room as well, and I wash the filter after 2 weeks, and replace after a month. Helps make my house not smell like a zoo, and helps it not look like i have fur tumbleweeds everywhere.

I have a sweet calico cat named Callie. I'm not sure exactly how old she is. 2-3. she's different from every other cat I've had in my life, but I still love her just as much as I loved those cats! she's still very young, so very playful. she is very, very loud and talks a lot. lately, she's been really sweet to me when I go to sleep. gets all close and everything. rest of the time is a different story. she doesn't knead on things. her favorite thing to play with is hair ties. I've gotten her some nice toys, but she always goes back to the hair ties. it's pretty adorable. I need to get a squeegee, would make cleaning off her favorite chair so easy. I'm not a fan of lint rollers because they produce waste.

Small tip that I got from a vat: do put a coconut oil (the solid one) near the food or some where else, they cats and dogs love it. I do post it because it reduce a lot of hair loss from the pat that you have. (originally they use it with horses). and for your question: i have 2 cats, 7 goldfishes, 4 chickens...and me :) .

I have 2 cats, Zizu and Mutsy. Cleaning up after them is fairly easy for me because when I furnished my apartment I went for the clean, sparse look (that's just what I prefer) and all my "sitting" or "lounging" furniture has a faux leather finish, which is super easy to wipe clean AND, most importantly, the cats don't scratch it. I have very few area rugs on hardwood or tiled floors, which also makes cleaning up very fast and easy. I use a lint roller for when the cats sleep on the bed and I groom them maybe once every couple of months... I clean my house once a week and it keeps things in check!

Hi Melissa!!! My name is Samiyah and I’m 10 years old. I have 2 cats, Coffee (8 yrs) and Coconut (5 yrs old). Coffee is a loving, laidback “Virgo”. He is jet black with lime green eyes, looks like a mini panther and is pretty big (15 lbs) He’s a very calm cat that doesn’t meow much, never hisses and LOVVVVEESSSS furry, plush blankets. On the bed, he’ll only sit or lay on his blanket and purrs very loud while being pet or groomed (which he likes). He only likes to play with hair ties. He’s a lazy, nonchalant cat that isn’t motivated by much. Coconut is a “Capricorn” diva. She’s a beautiful Himalayan/Siamese/Thai that’s cream/brown/gray/white colored with bright blue eyes. She is fluffy but small (9 lbs) and meows ALOTTTTTT! She will always turn her butt towards us, turn her head around and meow.....She likes to be pet, but not for too long. We have two cats, brothers and litter mates too. We have an orange polydactyl tabby named Merry and a gray and white tabby named Pippin. The names come from Lord of the Rings, so that’s why a boy is named Merry. Ha. He doesn’t seem to mind. One trick we use for the hair, as they both like to sleep on the back of couches, we keep blankets up there and just wash them regularly to remove the hair.

We have 4 cats in total. 2 ferral cats, 1st one named Onyx he's almost 13, a chubby long black haired tabby. Then the wind ferral cat is Otis. He's 9 and just a regular black cat. Both are quite friendly with us at least. Onyx is friendly with everyone, including the veterinary staff, they can't get over how friendly he is for a ferral. He had to have his ear drained, no anesthesia, and purred the whole time. Next we have our twins, gray tabbys. They were born in the same sack, a boy Smokey Joe & girl Tris. He is super loving and a hearty cat where Tris is standoffish and dainty. However they are identical. Next we have our German Shepherd, Molly Sue. She's 13 now but going strong. She's a big girl. When she sits, her chin rests on the dining room table and she sports a 20 inch tail. She's a beautiful dog. And we just acquired a rabbit from a friend of my daughters. She was moving out of state and couldn't take it with her. Her name is Pearly Mae. When she's out of her cage she likes to play chase. Meaning she likes to chase you. And she's litter box trained. All of our animals have special qualities one way or another and it's not just because I'm the mom saying that.😘❤

How do you get it all up from wood and tile floors? I have clients with 2 short haired dogs and 90% hard floors (wood and tile) and the little hairs are everywhere. I carefully either dry mop or vacuum first and then wet mop the entire house, but I never feel like I can get it all and it takes so long. How would you recommend the fastest, easiest way to clean this?

We used a special cleaner made for urine and shampooed the carpet with a professional shampooed we rented. It still didn’t fix the problem for us, so we tore up the carpet and refinished the wood floors. That fixed the problem. Best of luck!

Jessica Lam if that one cat pees in the same spot all the time, try adding a litter box in that area. Even if it's not a super big one, just one for that one cat to use. (And make sure it's a proper litter box and not some sort of, I dunno, box or foil baking tray. People some times won't get a litter box if it may be for a short time)

Nature's Miracle! It works great. Spray the area, let it sit and i got down to scrub my carpet with a rag. All the smell come back with the rag which I threw in the washer. wala! smell and stain are gone.

We have 7 cats (this was not intentional, don't judge me! haha) who have shown up at our door and made our house their home and a german shepherd - there isn't enough rubber or lint rollers in all of the world. We use bedspreads on the sofas, it doesn't look pretty but they are washable and we can take them off when we have company.

We use a blanket or throw on the couch. Cats like to lay on "squares" for some reason. Our cat will lay on any blanket or throw we put on the couch. I also use a FURminator brush. Looks like you do, too!

My cat Max a 6 year old male Siamese mix. Looks like your Molly. He rules my life and I’m fine with it. My sweet boy leads me to his dish when he wants food, to his brush when he wants pampering and he tells me when it’s bedtime, etc. Loves to be brushed so I do that several times a day. Serena is our misnamed cat. When we got her from the vet she had been rescued from a corn field by folks who already had cats and dogs. They told us that the dogs liked her but the cats did not. She made not a peep on the way home or for several days thereafter. When she found her voice she also found out that she was, TA DA!, a kitten. She is the wildest cat we have ever owned. She MUST have her outdoor time at night. We have rearranged so much furniture and removed so many decorative items to accommodate her wildness. She is three now and just beginning to come get in a lap for a nap or a pet. I keep old towels on her two favorite chairs and in the laundry basket she prefers for a bed. I wash them weekly. She is so entertaining! One odd thing, she does not mind having her claws clipped. She is ok with being brushed on her back, but no where else. She routinely takes her fish toy and places it in her water bowl. We think that is so strange.

My Pet Peeve (pun absolutely intended. I know. Low Hanging Fruit), is my beloved cat Molly exercising her claws on my nicest furniture. She is particularly fond of my teak dinner chairs. As Molly has medium length fur which is mostly white with about a third grey patches. And she is a weapons grade shedder. On Monday, Wednesday & Friday, white fur is evenly distributed across my navy blue sofa and armchair. On Tuesdays & Thursdays grey fur is scrupulously imbedded on the cream coloured fuzzy blanket in the guest room. Btw can you recommend the squeegee you use?

A Yip The most amazing tip to pick up fur and dander I have is a basic handheld Dyson with their mattress attachment. That machine’s only purpose is to clean soft surfaces like sofas and beds. I have 3 Ragdoll cats that loves to roll around the bed and sleep anywhere they want to and the Dyson picks up gobs of hair and dander/dust. I use it a few times a week. I also recently switched their litter from Swheat Sccop to wood pellets. No more litter dust. Seriously.

We have a male cat named Stevie (took the name of a favorite singer, Cat Stevens, and tweaked it a bit). Stevie is mostly white, with ginger fur on his head and tail. He loves rubbing up against me when I wear dark colored pants, of course. His fur is all over the house! We use hand-held lint rollers, but I love the idea of this bigger extendable handle lint roller that you recommended. I also use a rubber edged squeegee, it really does pick up a lot of the hair from Stevie's favorite chair. Thanks for doing this segment! :)

I have 2 six year old female Persians. As you can imagine, I have a ton of fur around! Even after I brush them! (Quick tip, if you cat doesn’t like to get brushed, and tried to scratch you, wear oven mitts! No scratching or biting will get through! How about a good way to get cat fur off of clothes? It seems to get “woven” into the fabric and just won’t come out! Help!!!
