Nice that you got brand new strips. I just went through this with my '98 civic. Hot summer days. I removed the old felt and adhesive on my trim piece, then glued strips of trunk liner fabric along the trim. Then I just trimmed it up, back in business lol. Thanks for the video!

I like how everyone wants the electric window variant that over time will get fucked up and there wont be any replacement parts so you can fix it , but the one that its mechanical and you just have to give some effort to get the window up will never fail unless something really fucked up happens , and it will always be there The real price for comfort ...

Great video, but the audio is desynced for me! It only happens on this video so I have a strong feeling it isn't my browser or drivers. I could recommend reupload. Either way, I just watched it through once muted, then listened through once without audio, then watched it again. Your video and the one by 1A Auto did the trick! I thought this would be so extremely complicated and require replacement seals and Honda specific trim removal tools. I'm a very happy and well inspired camper now that I know I just need a philips and a flat head. And for it to briefly stop snowing so I can go put my window back in its track! Thanks so much! Anecdote: I'm thinking it would be easy to upgrade from manual door locks and windows to power windows with a single junkyard run. Haven't researched it yet, but do you think the power window motor & regulator would bolt right in? And do you think the door panel that fits the powered controls would fit right in as well? I have a hatchback and believe those options only came on the coupe/sedans, but I feel like it would be easy enough and would solve this track issue. Thoughts?

Wow, I had no idea that the audio was messed up. I have no idea why because I didn't edit it after uploading but thanks for letting me know. I'll have to upload it again as a new video. I've not researched the power locks or windows aspect so can't give you any useful advice there. Sorry.

What is the yellow piece on the inside, mines broken and want to see if that’s fixable
@FixEverythingYourself2 жыл бұрын
Are you referring to the molded plastic piece that runs the entire length at the top of the door? I think it's all one piece of plastic. I haven't taken my door off in a few years and never tried to replace or fix it. You'd probably need a piece of plastic and glue (JB Weld or something very strong) it across the broken part of your door. Not sure what you have or how easy it would be to fix.
@juanperez30242 жыл бұрын
@@FixEverythingYourself yeah I am using fiber glass for one door that just has cracks on the yellow piece which looks like it’s held together but the driver side has pieces missing on the yellow piece so let’s see how it goes but do you happen to know the name of the part?

But I’ll also try to find something on JB weld

@@FixEverythingYourself This video helped me very nicely. For some reason I can take apart my 1993 Preludes door easily, this one actually got me slightly on edge however your video assisted me greatly. What if like me you forgot to mark the lines on the winder and now you just can't find the right setting mine keeps popping back of even with the clip
@FixEverythingYourself4 жыл бұрын
Roll the window all the way up, then put the handle on so it's tilted forward a little bit (2:00 position or so). Then mark the bottom of the handle, take it off, and mark the corresponding slot on the door side. Then you can roll the window down to whatever point you like to get the clip in. I've noticed that some aftermarket window handles aren't made quite right and it takes a little bit of effort to get the clip in correctly.

Great video! Very helpful, just wondering if I could still use the razor blade if I have tint on my window?
@FixEverythingYourself2 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, definitely a little risky. You may not have a choice but to try it because that sticky stuff will keep causing problems even after replacing the other part. Normally, I'd say to just use lighter fluid or a solvent to remove it but that could damage the tint.

Uh you have to slide the panel back on a certain way and it’s hard to get it on. Wish you showed that better because this old plastic is quite brittle. You didn’t actually show it at all
