33's look good on it. I've been thinking about picking up a 4runner also lol. Got a 94 ranger, 96 f150, and a 95 civic, looks like you got that integra back there.

i recently got a 2nd gen that also has a saggy rear like that lol. would new rear shocks and coils be the best option to fix it?
@rayregnogarage Жыл бұрын
The shocks don’t affect the ride height. I bought new springs and went to install them the other day but the upper shock mount is pretty rusted and the shock just spins. I may need to cut it off. Need to order new shocks first.

Have you flexed the suspension yet? Do they rub?
@rayregnogarage Жыл бұрын
The fronts grabbed onto the fender liner. I trimmed them and the front is fine so far. Now that the snow melted, I’ll see if the rears will rub. Pretty sure it will. The rear coils are super saggy.

@@thomaseytcheson4965 Ya. I keep saying it, but it might not be on THIS Ranger. I want a clean one without any rust. This may be the forever budget build/keep it running project. Haha. Also, we want to motor swap and longtravel the 4runner first. But the Ranger isn't going anywhere.

33's are okay with no lift if all you do is spin your wheels in mud and go to the mall. If anyone out there intends to actually wheel their whip, I (and everyone else in the community) recommend a slight lift. You don't need much, just enough to restore factory suspension articulation.
@rayregnogarage Жыл бұрын
Restore factory articulation? No. That’s not what slight lifts do. Most “slight” lifts AKA cheap lifts ALTER the factory articulation by giving you more ride height at the expense of down travel. I may temporarily put a ball joint spacer on this truck for the sake of making content, but if you were paying attention in the video, I mentioned this truck will be getting long travel after we do a motor swap. I’ve got two other rigs for the desert and trails. For now this is just my wife’s winter rig. I didn’t like her rolling in the snow in a FWD sedan.
@H.A.. Жыл бұрын
@@rayregnogarage No I paid attention to your video, fully. The comment was for everyone else watching your clip not yourself, people should be aware that unless they put a suspension lift they're actually reducing their off-road capabilities. I said a slight lift, I never said do a cheap body lift. Everyone knows body lifts and cheap lifts don't give back lost suspension travel. And for your info, yes you can do slight suspension lifts, stock or long travel aren't the only two options. I'm sure you've heard of OME lifts. It seems like I have offended you, feel free to delete my comment.
@rayregnogarage Жыл бұрын
You only lose travel if it rubs. If it rubs, a sawzall and/or angle grinder make for a quick solution. I ended up needing some snips to trim some of that plastic fender liner, but it’s fine. Lots of video out there of people wheeling on 33s with no lift.

Hi guys are there in entry level lift kits without fabrications? I can't find any decent lift kits on these older trucks without coil suspensions.. i see Rough country has a lift kit, but i dont think its intended for off road. i have Bilstein 6112s on my gx470 and it rides awesome on road and entry level to mid trails.

I go back and forth. If you are in SD check out Gearheads in Oceanside. They have a service where you can rent a bay with a lift and tools by the hour. That’s where I did my suspension swap and a bunch of other work. Really cool guys and so much better than working in your garage on the floor.
