Well done, good explanation of what, why and how. Only one criticism I would suggest. Since you used red rtv gasket sealer as a gasket which is an approved method, but you didn't clean gasket surface completely. Its okay with the rtv sealer, but say a beginner is going to be using a new gasket he might not understand that it must be perfectly clean for new gasket to seal. That's it, good job. Looking forward to seeing your mini chopper back on the road with full throttle.

I bypassed my governor, but I keep my engine below 5800rpm. I will be removing the governor gear, but keeping the governor arm. I tightened down my throttle arm so there's no play, but it can rotate freely. Keeps some of the mechanical noise down. I will probably actually replace the governor arm with a bolt, but keep the actuator arm. I might modify it to become a nut for the bolt, using a drill press and a thread tap.

Can you do a video on clutches/gearboxes? I’m not sure if I can afford the manual clutch from Sportsman. I want to do a vertical mount in my bike.

@@RidingWiithJacob i followed your directions and took the internal governor off today. Gota get the right size bolt to plug in so no oil leaks, then ill put it back together and see what she will do. My mini bike is a home made one and is a lot heavier than a typical mini so if I can't get more speed, I think ill use this 79cc for a cart and go with a 212 for the bike! Thanks

No what I would suggest is a torque converter set up to Jack shaft. And you most likely will be good on power. I’m not sure how I like the centrifugal clutch.

I’m sure it can. Not sure if it will be exactly the same process, but I’m pretty sure it has a governor that could be removed. Pull the case open and see, worse that can happen is you don’t have one and you put it back on.

@@fresnobassn744 I've never owned once cause the predator 212s are cheaper however the 212 I've built and the 224 i just got done with a mean little things, after port and polish on the heads with milling and the mod2 cam it made enough power to bend the frame on my yerf dog go kart

You want the gasket surface to be rough so it creates a better seal when it's smooth like that you do not have a great seal

I’m using a Honda gc190 for a go kart build. I want to remove the governor for more power, but the crank case doesn’t have a crank case lid. Instead, the crank case splits diagonally... hmmm

@@willmack4853 I think a torque converter is a much better setup than mine. So test it out first then work from there. But I think you’ll have enough power

When ya buy a China made engine of any kind even before you install it, it would be wise to tear it down completely and inspect/check everything, clean it up, and re-assemble it!
