When it's already broken like in the video it's pretty easy but mine were still in good shape (at least the holding part) so I had to insert a screwdriver in the upper hole (hole between the top of the jack point and the bottom of the car/side where the point clips in) and smash it with a hammer to move/destroy the internal clip to release the point. Then to place the new one in, smash it with your hand first then lift the car with a jack to make it hold firmly ;)

Most new BMW do not come with a spare tire or jack. My question is specific to the jack itself. Can you use any standard scissor jack type of jack? Or must you have a special one from BMW? Asking because jack seems to require a fit neatly in the plastic rubber spot under the car. It would be a pain if that means you need to use only a BMW jack.

Hello, unfortunately yes you need to use a bmw type jack, you cannot use a scissor one, you risk to damage the plastic..., I bought myself one from Facebook market and just keep it in my car in case....second hand they are not that expensive.

You can get an adapter that fits in the slot for like 10$ on amazon or ebay. Then you can use any jack you want and not risk damage to the adapter.
