Love the outcome so much! Your 3D printed tile spacers were such an improvement.

I'm glad you thought so!!! They were lightweight - that's mostly why they worked so well. You did an EXCELLENT job and our new kitchen thanks you!

This looks great! I loved the tutorial and how you did the filmography!

Thanks! I had a lot of fun filming it - although that probably slowed us down a little.

Thanks! Something about the final product is extra satisfying knowing how much work it was!

Lots of work, but worth it! Plus, it's a real nice subway tile, not cheap junk!

The final product looks INCREDIBLE. The process looks like a nightmare 🙈

Was quoted 1200 for this job. Materials and fixing dry wall. Spaces combined is 37sqft

That’s about right, it’s a lot of work, and the pros probably do it better :). I like the adventure of trying a project, but if I had a second kitchen I’d spend $1200 for someone else to do it real quick 🤣

Hey boss! Quick question. 28 square foot simple subway tile backsplash in kitchen (I have the product) paying someone for the labor to do it. What’s a fair price ?? I want to make sure I’m not getting hosed ! Thx!!

I don’t know for sure, and I haven’t seen an estimate since pre-pandemic. I had estimated the job would be from about $2500-$4k, and mine was a similar size. Removing the tiles may have increased the price after the work was started by a bit more. I spent around $500 doing it ourselves, plus a cheap saw :). Internet says $900 to $1500 plus the cost of tile.

@@LeisureLuke Wow. I bought the tiles myself. Spent about $100 on 36 ft.² of 3 x 12 subway tile. I can’t imagine paying over $1000 out to do this project. It’s not expensive at all

@@LeisureLuke can’t believe it. The guy called me today. Said $500. That’s to 1. come in level out a few bowed areas in the wall. Next day 2. do the tile. Next day 3. grout and seal. Wow. That seems like a no-brainer right?? To go with him

@@johnc1280 Shoot, I'd have hired someone if it was $500! :D I would go for it, wouldn't think twice!! Huh... that's crazy!

Why would you not just use mud?
@LeisureLuke Жыл бұрын
This was the right stuff for the application. Drywall mud can’t be applied as thick as that stuff I used. Drywall mud should only ever be about 1/8” thick or less. Anything “deeper” than that requires a harder, faster drying product.
