Just worked on my Macbook: macsoftdownload 100 year old BING Redirect malware. Can't believe I rook'd and got it. Tried to kill it with Malwarebytes, nope didn't find it...this video helped track down the evil files. Into the trash they went, rebooted and DONE. THANK YOU.

Thanks so much! I had an issue with the Advanced mac Cleaner. I had tech support remove it from my computer when I discovered it was a virus. I followed your instructions just for the heck of it, but discovered the tech missed a few things. I found more remnants of the program. I removed it and deleted my trash. Gosh, things were really hidden. Especially that secret menu where you have to hold down option. Thanks again!

Drink Bleach Just delete the whole file you downloaded and delete it. Then download this app called CCleaner for mac.(internet download)

when I called tech support, they just gave me a link to a free anti malware called Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. do one scan and it identifies everything wrong immediately. it really helped

Ik its been some time, but if you're still having issues with removing safe finder within safari, then go to safari's Preferences, then Extensions, and remove the "Safe Find" extension including any extensions you may not be familier with .

I followed instructions from 11:15 on and deleted "totaltoolboxsearch" in those folders you mention and it worked for like 1 month, then suddenly safari opened an update box by itself and there it was again, safesearch installed itself from nowhere. It must be hiding somewhere else. If someone knows please share.

@@MrMesutor I did what's shown on the video but aso looked under system preferences =>users. Sometimes it create a user as admin and you can't change google search engine because of that, it took me a while to find it. if you have it, delete it. I also installed malwarebytes and it never came back, don't know if it is because of this or just luck.

at 11:16 I found the answer to getting rid of Bing redirect in my iMac….I’ve been trying EVERYTHING. I found the culprit in my Launch Agents folder and GoPro program that seemed innocent enough….but after trashing it, shutting down and restarting: Bing does not take over.

Thank you for doing this video! I didn't know about the Force Quit and last night Search.Schooldozer got loaded on my brand new MacBook Air. It over rode my Malwarebytes. It took me an hour last night to figure out how to get rid of it, but now I see under Home ,Applications "Chromium" installed May 16, 2017" as well as a Yahoo Powered Search. The Yahoo give me the option to uninstall. Could either of these be remnants of the Schooldozer malware? Thank you.

I had an ADC folder when i opened it there it was the hlpradc. The cause of all my problems. I force stop first with the activity monitor and then i deleted the file. We will see in the upcoming days if that was it. Hope I did it right. In the mean time Thank you very much. I learned something new today.

Just wanted to thank all the comments that suggested Malwarebytes. It's completely free and it cleaned out everything bad on my sister's macbook air. Go get it, it's literally an easy fix with it. Just follow what it tells you to and scan, then you should be good!
