Ball joint presses are so good at a variety of suspension repairs. I don't know if it would work on this exact bushing but I on things like tail shaft bushings and the bushing shell on GM lower control arms I use a Sawzall and carefully cut one side of the bushing in half. You have to be extremely careful and not cut 100% through but if you get it close and then use a small flat punch the bushing will usually just push right out. It removes enough material to release the tension. But you have to be able to get the blade completely through the bushing so it doesn't look like it would work on this particular application.

I bought a 12 ton press for $99 we'll see how well it preforms. All I want it for is to press out/in ball joints and race bearings etc.

Great idea. I am currently working an RRS, but some of the bushings are so large I imagine I would have to cut my own washers to fit them, plus I think the sleeves are so thin the welds would probably give up before the busing came out, but hell, I like experiments!!

"Easy" because you have all those shop tools. This is not applicable to the driveway mechanic.

If all you have is a socket set and a couple of screw drivers, maybe you shouldn't be attempting this repair.......
