2:56 It's weird, I tried this same trick with an episode of my podcast I recorded yesterday. I had a guest come on the podcast and they wore a sweatshirt that was really noisy whenever they moved around. The microphone picked up the sweatshirt quite a bit for the entire one hour long episode. I tried this technique you showed us in order to get a noise profile for the background sound from his sweat shirt and followed your steps but when I removed the noise it actually screwed up his vocals pretty badly. Does this only work with hum or buzz or something similar? I was hoping it would work for ANY kind of noise. But perhaps it's mostly used for 60hz hum or like a computer fan etc. and not as good at detecting other little tiny sounds that are in the mix?
@Mista808 Жыл бұрын
I just tried it again on a different vocal where I'm testing out recording while having the heater turned on in my apartment. Can easily hear the sound of the heater on the vocal and when I acquire the noise profile the way you showed us and then try to remove it, literally NOTHING happens no matter how high or low the threshold, or the amount level is set for! WTF?

Hello! How to transpose scale in FL Studio first even before starting to play? For example, I play in the scale of 'E'. The client specifically asks me that he wants the composition to be set in the scale of 'A'. But I may not know the 'A' scale and hence would be like to ‘Transpose’ from 'E' to 'A' first [though I would playing the keyboard in 'E'] so that the Piano-roll is 'set' at 'A' scale. Can you kindly let me know how to achieve this? Thanks..

Hi, you can transpose notes in FL Studio, both in the piano roll and in the playlist, however, transposing from one scale to another is currently not possible. You'll have to do that manually.

Hello! I have a simple inquiry to make; how to transpose scale in FL Studio 20 even before starting to play? For example, I play in the scale of E. The client specifically asks me that he wants the composition to be set in the scale of A. I have watched your video ‘How to Transpose in FL Studio (Notes & Arrangements)’ [dated 8th February, 2019]. However I felt that the solution to my specific query is not there, [I may be wrong]. Different plugins have a noise gate but the issue is the hissing comes though the active recording ,, only when there is no sound does it get rid of the hiss.. need a way to eliminate it entirely like how some software separates vocals from music tracks for example.

It's Helpful Buh I Feel Like The Vocal Doesn't Sound Good How About You Reduce The Amount?
@FireWalkMusic4 жыл бұрын
This was an extreme example that I set up in order to really show the difference. Most of the time you won't have anywhere near as much noise as this. In this case a lot of processing was needed to deal with the noise. However, most of the time, there will be far less noise, and you'll get away with way less processing, meaning that the result will be more natural. :)

I didnt know the noise gate trick, but I think you shoul have shown more examples in Edison, dunno why u kept 100% amount, the vocal was still fked up after You should have shown a right amount and how it could sound good and preview the "output noise only" button for your viewers You would get to 10min aswell and get more yt money :D For the viewers: The In The Mix tutorial for noise remove with edison was good

Hi, thanks a lot for the feedback! This will help me improve my videos in the future. I'm aware of the 10-minute thing. That's the reason why so many KZbinrs tend to drag out the time on purpose, so that they can earn more money, by wasting the viewers time essentially. I've never been a fan of that. Nothing is more annoying than watching an 11-minute video about something that could have been explained in 3 minutes :p I realized early on that most producers watch youtube tutorials mainly in order to figure out something quickly so that they can get back to work. Therefore, I always try to make my videos as short and to the point as possible. Most of my videos are 2-6 minutes long. Unfortunately, as you pointed out, this means that I earn very little money from my videos and since the videos also generate very little watch-time, they won't be promoted as much by the youtube algorithm as a longer video would. Not fair if you ask me, but I suppose it's understandable that they want people to stay on the platform as long as possible. :) Perhaps In my eagerness to make videos that are as short and to the point as possible, I some times leave some things out that could have been useful. In this case, I my aim wasn't really to make an in-depth Edison tutorial, but rather to quickly show various ways to quickly deal with typical background noise. The vocal in this example had an extreme amount of noise, and it actually needed to have it all the way up in order to get rid of it all, degrading the vocal slightly. Most vocals won't be this bad though. You have some valid points, so I'll probably make a more in-depth video down the line, focusing on just Edison. It's a powerful plugin that can do way more than most people think. :)

@@FireWalkMusic Yeah, I don't want you to stretch your videos with useless stuff, but you could bring more into this video, dont be afraid of hitting the 10min if the 10min are filled :). Ye true, sometime your in your mix and just want to know smth real quick, but its better to understand smth complete instead of just half and enough for the mix right now. You're a good guy for this thinking and for showing us these usefull tricks in your videos, thank you for that :). I didn't want to say stretch everything to get more money, just in some cases you should explain smth more deep or show some examples and we both benefit more.
