💥Exciting update! If the above method doesn't work for you, I have just collaborated with www.lalal.ai/voice-cleaner/?fp_ref=mrc (affiliate link) - results are AMAZING and it's free to try it (although you need to pay to download the songs). Highly suggest giving those guys a try. 💫 ‼UPDATE FOR ADOBE AUDITION USERS ‼- I have made it easier than ever before to work with tricky audio. My brand new Audition presets are out now. One click to GREAT sound :) Check them out here: mrc.fm/presets This is a great way for you to support my channel too 🙏🙏🙏

Question for you Mike... (dumb one but I'm new) .. I take it I copy the audio track from the video I have in Premiere Pro, and then paste it into Audition then clean it and save it and bring it back into the project I'm working on?

Used to work in radio ages ago, and suddenly got some audio editing to do in my new job. These tutorials are absolutely fantastic to get back in the game! Also it's amazing how much the tech has evolved to become so much more accessible for everyone these days, compared to when I had this as a day job. Love it! Radio/audio will always have a special place in my heart. Such a great medium

Same here. I scoured related content trying to find a way to get rid of these mysterious bumps on some clips I would not be able to reshoot. I never seemed to come across any tutorials showcasing this granular approach. I finally asked the Reddit community for help and someone sent me this link. Of course it ended up being a Mike Russell video, I should have known. A vast majority of the things I have learned in my current novice phase of editing have come from various Mike vids. Lesson learned: check Mike Russell's channel first to see if the topic I need is covered. Mike, you have a knack for teaching. Clear and articulate without bloated information or unnecessary content. The structure of your videos is so smooth and shows the forethought you have about your subject matter. So many tutorial videos are all over the place making seem as though the creators are just winging their thought processes as they record. Then there's the content creators who think it's a good idea to include background music to a video about audio editing. Making it impossible to pick up on the actual audio differences in their cleanup tutorials. Thanks for sharing your skills with such a high level of quality Mike.

The only suggestions I have then are to try a different USB lead and a different USB port on your computer. In the event neither of these solves it it’s more than likely the mic itself as USB mics have both the microphone tech and the analogue to digital conversion tech housed within.

I just started to get into voice recordings and stuff... Been meaning to get into it for a long time... I have a low budget mic and a room without any acoustics or anything of sorts... this really helped in reducing all the background noise that bothered the hell out of me... Thanks a lot... :D
@MikeRussell3 жыл бұрын
Glad to have helped. While it's not necessary to have a quality mic and sound treatmenet to get into voice work if you want to pitch for the higher end (better paying) jobs you'll need an acoustically treated space and at least a mid-range mic to get through the auditions for jobs as a quality producer will be able to spot the post processing.

Thanks a lot for all your helpful videos, Mike. Whenever I have an audio issue or question, I find help on your channel. Since I found your videos, my audio has improved big time and my subscribers appreciate that just as much as I do! May I ask a question: if the wind is really high, I get some wind noise despite using small dead cats on lavalier microphones. After I remove that with hi-pass, the voice sounds A LITTLE like listening through a phone - I hope you get what I mean, it's just higher and not so warm. Do you have a method how to improve that after reducing the wind noise? Thanks again - keep going!
@MikeRussell3 жыл бұрын
I think the issue here is that the wind noise is more than just low rumble. Using the HP filter will cure the wind noise but in doing so you're also removing the lower frequencies in your voice which, once removed, you cannot add back. Perhaps look at the HP filter lower down, no higher than 120hz and a combination of that and De-noise or adaptive noise reduction.

Thanks, Mike. Much appreciated. I'll give that a try! Maybe I'm just too picky 🤣
