How to remove or replace the glove box on VW Polo 9N Mk4

Glovebox removal on VW Polo 9N Mk4 to replace the glove box with a new replacement part or to access the heater blower motor, V154 recirculation flap motor or to access the thermal resistor for the AC heater blower motor.
When the thermal resistor is blown-out, the AC fan speed will only work on speed 4 not on speed 1,2,3. The resistor is not a regular resistor but a thermal fuse with a specific maximum safe temperature.
It's safety fuse and to replace it, you must remove the old resistor with a pair of pilers.
Then crimp a new resistor in place of the old one.

When removing the glove box, be very careful with anything marked with the color yellow.
Behind the glovebox is the airbag system. Do not touch the airbag electrical connector or the air canister.
Best is to fold up the protection fleece blanket when working on the AC heater blower motor fan or other parts.
When reinstalling the glovebox, check that the screw clips have not fallen out.
If a screw clip is missing, that screw will not get tight and always be loose no matter how many times you turn it.
It's easy to put the clips back, the hardest part is finding them if they do fall out.

I’m trying to fix a leak in the washer piping. The washer fluid runs down the left chassis member from somewhere around the bulkhead but I can’t see any fluid in the engine compartment or near to the pump/bottle. I think the pipes run behind the glove compartment but did you see any there when you removed it? Thanks.

Never had to look for those but it doesn't make sense to come inside. It should be all around the engine. Look for a repair guide on that.

If you see water close to your glove box(inside of the car) then it could be the heater core since it's the only place that has water flow.

@@alexpapadopoulos9179 I fixed this problem. There is a pipe that runs from the front to the back of the car to take washer fluid to the rear windscreen. It is joined in two places by inline plastic joins, one near the bulkhead and one in the boot (trunk). If the fluid freezes or the jets get blocked they can push apart and I’ve now seen both joins fail. Easy to fix - just push back together. Then make sure the washer fluid has enough antifreeze to cope with the temperatures.
