Ive been painting for going on 15 years now. I do have an LLC. I do own an auto restoration business. I do paint cars and trucks and motorcycles on a daily basis. Aaaand...I DO GET RUNS! Its life. Its a part of the job. Nobody understands all of the factors that go in to shooting paint. Temps. Humidity. Moisture in an air line. Compressor oils. Theres so many more on top of those. Anyone who talks smack on a painter for having runs in a paint job is an A Hole. Plain and simple. Keep doing you bro. Youre a talented dude. Your work shows that. Ive reached out to you for work before and i do it for a living. That says enough in my book.

At the end of the day , I'm just trying to make content for the people at home, the DIY weekend guys ect ect. 99% of the cars on this page are mine so if I screw up no biggie 🤣 I'll fix it when I can or If I even want. But there isn't a single paint problem I CAN'T FIX. Your right people don't take into factor painting conditions constantly changing. That's part of my issue with this job it was the first full body job this winter

I had my 13 year old daughter watch the video of you spraying this and showed her some of the spots that looked like trash in the paint and pointed out some of the sags and runs too. Then you talked about them in the video. I even told her that they could be fixed and they wasnt a big deal. Now i'll show her this video tomorrow and show her how it looks after and all. She liked it before the paint but loved it after it was all wet looking. Keep up the Great work and Content.

Thanks for posting these videos! It has me thinking about painting my son's Absolutely Red 01 Celica GT-S myself. It has the clear peeling on it and some rust on the quarter. I did two cars when I was in college and they turned out ok, so I have some experience, but I just don't want to waste a lot of $$$ on a $2,600 car. The paint brand looks like a good deal to me, if I can get my son to help with it! 😂. Thanks again!

Owned a high end collision repair shop for 16 years before I went back to farming full time in 2016. Runs do happen, but I can honestly say my painters and myself never had runs that bad. Professionals are not perfect, but that is pretty bad for someone that paints daily.. Some guys no matter how much practice, professional or not, will never be great painters.. I went through a few "professional painter" in my many years in business.

One request for those of us who are watching to learn how to use these products: say what product(s) are going on the car at the start. I had no idea this was single stage until you were basically done with your corrections. I didn't know if you stopped after basecoat to sand out the runs and then clear or what. You just sort of mentioned offhand at the end.

@@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 Another trick you can do that I learned from an old time painter is to take some polyester spot putty (2 part) and spread it over the run. Then block it with like 400 or 600 until all of the putty is gone. What that does is keeps you from sanding on the paint around the run UNTIL the run is gone. Then just hit it with 1000, 2000, 2500, buff. It will totally remove the run and the area will look perfectly flat.
