Hi Richard! Thank you so much for your kind comment and congratulations on your bodyshop career 🙌🏼 I missed out on lead finishing as I became a panel beater in 1997 we used body filler. I did do a lot of metal finishing until I got to a stage where I didn’t need to remove the paint hence I became a PDR tech 🤗 I will have more great videos out soon. And will continue to add as much detail and information into these as possible Thanks Martin

Mr Sadler I can watch every step you do fixing this and I still think you are some kind of sorceror. You deserve to be a pound millionare if you aren't already. You ought to teach courses in it, let's face it Paintless PDR is the closest thing to a perfect trade for a young person to learn that I have ever seen! If I were young and starting over again, P.D.R. is the first thing I'd learn. But I'd probably get busted at some point, and get caught sneaking into the junkyards at night, just to get the practice -
@dentremover0118 күн бұрын
Thanks Robert!! I got a very long way to go until I’m a pound millionaire! I have plans for courses this year once I have everything set up. And anyone at any age can learn PDR. Even to scratch an itch to say you can take a simple dent out! It’s very satisfying

Hi Martin, I have been following you for a couple of years now and still amazed by what you achieve. I am a vehicle technician who learnt in an old school garage including body repairs, welding, painting ect. Recently I have tried casting from lead, aluminium, copper ect, what I learnt over the years is to respect the metals as they all react and respond differently. However what you do is absolutely amazing more like an art form by someone talented with an exceptional eye for detail taking pride in their work and most of all the overall finish. I have already started studying different videos, logging important information, metal temp, processes like the six C's. I've ordered a fair quality GPR kit and need to collect a door to practice on. If I can teach myself the basics learning by my own mistakes including how to rectify my mistakes only then will I take the course. Plus I have nothing better to do for the next year until I have my operation and recover. Big thanks to Martin for your excellent tutorial videos giving me something to focus on and a goal to aim for. Maybe one day I will have an opportunity to watch someone like Martin in person carry out one of these larger repairs.

Hi Teale! Thank you so much for your comment! Well done on your motor repair career, the amount of skill and techniques especially the old skills like lead, metal finish and metal shaping I’d love to try metal shaping with all the hammers n sandbags and rollers etc The best advice I can give you if you want to start PDR is to learn how to read reflection, and learn how to knock down high pings and creases Once you master removing high marks the rest will come a lot easier. Pulling or pushing dents is far easier then rectifying mid pushes and highs Hope this helps, and lastly there’s a USA dent expo on in January in Orlando. If your local to there it’s the best place to see anything PDR 🙌🏼

I have been a paint & body guy for 28 yrs. I tried doing PDR in the late 90's. It is not easy. Unless you have access to the back of the panel, it's difficult. I used to practice on cars in the shop. But, colors like silver. Would leave a permanent mark when you pushed out from the inside. I see the industry has come a long way from when i tried it. Excellent work. If you watch a body tech straighten a panel. You might pick up a few pointers you could apply to your repair methods.

@@frankartale1026 great comment. That can be done but it’s difficult sometimes to keep the bar under load while tapping. The use of Dollie’s isn’t really needed because the shock from the hammering can flatten the metal too much and cause it to stretch. A paintless dent repair man fixed a wrinkled panel on my car where a deer T-boned it. A doe literally ran into the side of my car as I was driving 55 mph! He said the repairs you see on KZbin look great on camera, but in real life they are very good but not as perfect as the video leads you to believe. He did a great job, it’s an 11 year old car. I told him it didn’t have to be glass perfect, as long as it looked better and no worse than the rest of the car. Mission accomplished, satisfied customer

Excellent Mr Jeffcoley I’m glad you where able to get your damage fixed by a dent technician On my videos I make sure the damage is as perfect as possible. The camera picks up so much more than the eye can see and I always show the finished repair with a quality control disc which some other PDR channels don’t do. But I’d say the majority of PDR channels or the popular techs will show very high quality repairs. It’s hard to cheat the camera with PDR finishes

Thank you so much! You’re right it is an Art! I love my job! The paints these days can withstand a lot of punishment. See my White Mokka door repair and you’ll see how much abuse I give that paint!!!
