I decided to part out the Officejet 6600 we have and sell the pieces. The place where the printhead rests on the right side was full of black ink. I bet you that's where the waste ink is suppose to to be deposited.

You are right, hp should make the cleaning area serviceable like a side compartment that opens to clean the cleaning area😉

I have the same model, today I bought a non-hp cartridge, it turns on and then turns off suddenly, I haven't used the printer for several months. can someone help me what is the problem? Thank you!

I have both the 6600 and the 6700 both have the same issue. Took the Phead out of 6600 AND CLEANED IT reinstalled it and got the errors but even worse the printer head gained about 50mph speed now and it slams into the left and right of the printer and just this last time my printer wont even go on now ...

I replaced the print-head on my HP 6600 Office jet. After replacing the print-head the printer would jam when I would printing would start. A few weeks later the printer displayed ink and print-head errors. I spent good money on OEM replacement ink cartridges. The error messages persisted, and the printer is inoperable. I suspect that these errors are the result of planned obsolescence. My solution to these problems is to NEVER again buy another HP product.

I believe that even I can do that, but I'm having trouble finding the print head to purchase. Where do I purchase the replacement. The HP is no good at all.

I took out the same screws, but the lid not even remotely as easy to remove as it shows.

The top of yours does come off just you have to pry really hard in the small gap. There is a plastic tab in there.

Hi, I followed all instructions, replaced the printhead, everything is as it should be but I am getting an error message which prevents me from printing or scanning: "The print carriage cannot move. . ." and telling me to remove obstructions. I followed the HP video, checked everywhere, did a hard reset, soft reset, etc etc. I can't get past this and I don't know what I am missing. Can anyone help get this to work now? Thanks for your help.

We were able to open, remove and clean the printhead but when re-connected the printhead kept slamming back and forth and a new error appeared.

I have removed the printhead in my HP 6700 premium printer and re-installed it . . . twice . . . and each time now I'm getting the error that the printhead is either missing or installed incorrectly; I put it back exactly the way I took it apart; any help you can provide with this would be greatly appreciated.
