This worked for my 2018 Corolla rear speaker replacement. Follow the procedure as told by this video .Yes this a lot of work to get to the speakers,but you will be fighting and breaking clips that are important to reassemble !!! I tried to do it the easy way without removing seats and other stuff and quickly learned I was wrong. If your working on a beater and it does not matter what the reassemble looks like then go the easy and rip it apart! Thanks for taking the time to create a great how to video !!!!!!!!

Rob ......you have shown the safest way to remove rear deck dash , wow that has been greatly appreciated I had to help a dear friend of mine remove the rear window tint because it completely bubbles out and it would not pass registration , with your help I was able to remove the tint and the adhesion as well and that took me the best part of four hours and that would have cost her a fortune , from down under in Sydney Australia my deepest gratitude Thank you

is it really necessary to take out the whole back seat? or can you leave them in and just fold them down and remove the panels starting from the bottom of the door frame and work your way up?
@trexinvert6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info. I followed everything "except" doing anything in the trunk. I left all the crap in my trunk and just folded down the seats. You can easily unbottom the flaps behind each seat. Just saved me the hastle of entirely cleaning out my car. The only reason I think you "should/need" to have access through trunk is if you need to drill holes into the steel rear deck. (you would have to lie on your back and drill upwards). I was going to do that, but then I found some adapter spacers with holes for both the new 6x9's and existing M10 bolt down. Keep on.

Careful with the airbag sensor not mentioned in this video. Its connected to the top of the rear deck trim it's a connector sensor that will turn off your airbag if you remove it. This cost me some money to fixed. The video didnt say anything about it
@kennethcarroll49942 жыл бұрын
What do you need to do with the sensor , can you leave it hooked up or ? I'm getting ready to do my daughter's 2016 Corolla rear speakers.

Overall Good video, but removing the rear seats is completely unnecessary, I just folded the seat backs down. For the life of me I have no clue why anybody would remove the seats.

Wait a minute, you need to disassemble half the car to change the speakers, please !!!
@Toyotaelectrotech5 жыл бұрын
You don't actually have to take the back seat out. You can sneak the side panels past everything. But you do need to remove 3 panels. 2 side and the big rear one. What they are doing is the correct way so not to damage anything.

It doesn't involve that much please!!!! I know I've done it!!!

so I ended up doing it without having to take the seats out at all lol

Thanks for the feedback. WE remove the seats to protect them from damage. Taking the seats out only takes a few minutes and minimizes chances of damage to seats. Also, it gives us access to run subwoofer wiring.

dank9288639 how do you do it?
@dank92886397 жыл бұрын
Brendan Henderson you first start with the trim by the back doors on both sides then you take the door seal off a bit. Then you will remove the next panel up which is the bigger one on the side of the back seat do that on both sides. Then you will be left with the upper panel(grey) on both pillars remove them. Next you will put both the back seats down after that you will remove the top cover that covers the 6x9s don't forget to pull up the 4 clips first. I used my hand to start the panel off and it popped right off don't forget to disconnect any connections in your way of pulling the panels. AMD don't forget to put them back at the end lol

I just roughly installed a powered sub in my 2016 Corolla. But I want to redo it properly. Jesus Christ it's a lot of work just getting to the speakers..
@dank92886395 жыл бұрын
@Daniel Bea the seats dont rattle it's the rear deck! Its thin as a coke can lol I sound deadend both the top and the bottom of it. Also put some on the plastic cover itself and it stops the rattles in the back completely. Don't forget to get a dynamat license plate cover for the rear because that thing rattles like no other

You still on a 2016 toyota corolla take the folding seats out due to bottom side panels and get the seat belt out even that's on that year of car then the rest is easy to pop off on the fold down seats are 2 screws each so a total of four just pull back the carpet of the seat and they are right there don't loose those screws

@aesop20208 жыл бұрын
Is it true that most after market 6x9's don't fit, or that I will have to drill holes? From some other videos it looks like Toyota places that metal plate around the stock speaker, so after markets don't line up with the correctly.

When it comes to actual car design, Japanese car makers DON'T HAVE A CLUE and Toyota is by far the WORST when it comes to any type of customization or getting to something to fix it.
