Can you show how to open the rear split trellis frame of 390 duke and also how to put it back? I’m watching your video from very long, it helped me a lot…. And love from India 🇮🇳 ❣️

This is just the first stage for removal of the rear seat frame. I may do it sometime, but not yet. Process from here - remove the inner seatframe, battery etc, snorkel, numberplate frame, undertray, rear pegs frame, reg/rec etc then you can remove - not a quick job.

Hi mate. Do you have idea or workaround on how to fix the moist inside the tail light of duke 390?
@MotoMirius2 жыл бұрын
Once the seal has failed on a unit like this there isn't a good permanent fix aside from taking it apart and resealing it - and taking it apart can be hit and miss because it normally requires heat to soften the glue and that can go wrong very quickly.

Thanks for the videos. Is there a shop manual for these Dukes? I'm the owner of a 2021 Duke 200 in the USA, and would like something more comprehensive than the owners manual.

There are KTM dealer manuals, pretty sure I've not seen anything for the 2021, but then I've not looked.

Hi Dave, it is possible to mount that rear light with both the transparent support broken?
@MotoMiriusАй бұрын
Yes it is but the light will not be securely fixed and will wobble so I wouldn't rely on it for the long term - I've run long term with one broken and that seems OK.

hey david, is there any solution to fix the broken lock on the tail light if i have the broken piece of it?
@MotoMirius2 жыл бұрын
Yes, there are a number of solutions. One way is to drill through the parts, pin them and glue them back together - you may get enough grip strength with a superglue without the pin.

Would it be possible to DIY front shock tubes to extend them? Is this something that can be done by someone who is good with welding or should i look for someone who can fabricate the tubes. I know you can buy extended tubes for harleys and stuff, but i have a xvs650 aka vstar650 like yourself and i cant find extended forks anywhere. Could harley tubes be converted? Do you have some ideas?
@MotoMirius2 жыл бұрын
No, welding would be far too much work, and you really don't want to introduce a weak point that could fracture while you are riding at speed. Tubes are just tubes but you need to get the material spec right. If you can find fork tubes of the right dimensions it might work but you might find it easier to find a complete front end that fits.

Hi sorry to ask again, but lost your response, what ecu would you recommend for a 2021 125 ktm duke. Thanks again Russell
@MotoMirius2 жыл бұрын
I did a video on choosing an ECU. It depends on why you want an ECU - there are different ones out there, most good for a purpose, but of no use if they don't do what you want. For example, to make low revs smoother, adding an airbox lid etc and wanting to stay safe or getting optimal results for racing. And it can depend where you live.

Hey! I have a Problem with my rc390 from 2015 and the KTM Dealer can't Help me. When driving i have (in every Gear) at EXACTLY 4000Rpm a really loud metall grinding noise over and under 4000 its gone. It sounds like it comes from inside the Motor. I ordered a New Cam Chain tensioner gonna install next week but i dont think thats going to fix it. Do u have a Idea what it could be ? It Sounds Like the Chain is grinding on smthng but i made an oil Change and there are no big Metal pieces in there. Thank you
@Jannik_08152 жыл бұрын
And also i dont think its the Cover/mirror/front mask/ license Plate producing that Sound. I Put insulation stuff between all parts that Made noise because of the vibrations. The Sound is clearly coming from the Motor.

That is a strange one. Does it happen only when riding or does it happen if you rev the bike when stationary?

Hello sir I’ve been having an issue with my 2019 duke 390 and wondering if you would possibly know what it could be and/or what could be done to fix it. When the bike is idling the bike is fine and works how it should but the minute I start riding anywhere past 4k revs, on the screen it’ll come up with ABS FAILURE and HLU FAILURE simultaneously. Right as that happens the bike will start to awfully stutter and I have to drag the clutch for it to go anywhere. My suspicions are that the vibrations caused by the revs are creating a bad connection or a short circuit? When I coast on the bike (hold the clutch in whilst moving) it fixes itself and the abs and headlight turn back on and after a while of riding it’ll fix itself too. Do you know what it could be or what I could do to fix it? Many thanks.
@MotoMirius2 жыл бұрын
HLU failures are rare but do seem to create issues with the bike running and I've seen ECU failure warnings with that - but it seems to HLU related. First step is to check fuses and wiring to the headlight - because the forks turn, wiring to the handlebars and headlight can get twisted and and wear on any bike. Headlight is easy to remove so have a check carefully - the fact that it fixes itself while riding suggests that there is loose or damage wire that starts working as the handlebars or forks move. As with all electrical issues, it can be hard to track down but it's important not to get overwhelmed and try doing random things - just check one wire at a time until you have checked them all, and remember bad earths are a common cause for this, so the issue may not even be at the headlight, it could be at the other end of the wire. Good luck.
@icey55822 жыл бұрын
@@MotoMirius Thank you very much for the advice, I’ll have a careful look all around, so far i haven’t seen any wires that might be causing this and I’ve looked around the internet and can’t find other ppl with this sort of issue which worries me, but I will have a gander and see if I can find anything, thank you for reply

@@icey5582 Next time check the battery voltage while the problem occurs. If it goes above 15V, problem can be with RR unit. Anyways check all the fuses for tightness.

On my motorcycle, the lock does not fix the seat. Now I saw how to get close to him. I thought if you unscrew the two bolts that fix the lock, then 2 reciprocal nuts will fall out. Turns out not)
@MotoMirius2 жыл бұрын
The most common causes of seat not closing are cable fouled so lock mechanism doesn't spring back and also too much under seat so it can't be pushed down far enough. Good luck with that as it can be fiddly to replace.

Has anyone tried to remove the rear light cover? My light have moisture in it and I can't dry it out. Any ideas how to remove it?
@MotoMirius Жыл бұрын
It's a sealed unit. It is possible to take these apart - typically it involves warming them up in an oven to soften the glue and then glueing them back together. But some moisture is not unusual but yours likely is damaged and allowing water in. These are available second hand which might be a better solution.
