It sounds like they are charging you labour to fit. I would suggest that you buy online from a KTM dealer such as Fowlers - www.fowlersparts.co.uk/browser/manufacturer/ktm/bike/road-125cc/year/2021/model/125-duke/country/europe/colour/black But note that the clutch cover is on the right hand side of the bike, ignition cover is on the left - but the pages show the parts so it's easy to see what you need.

Im wondering if the sidelying pipe on the pre 2017 ktm fits since its the same engine and frame. And do i have to reconfigure the ecu as the flow changes or does the ecu change by it self?
@MotoMirius6 күн бұрын
Hi, it should fit as you note. I'm not familiar with the brackets on the under engine routing, so they might have been changed - but nothing that can't be overcome. Your bike is tuned for a different level of emissions and the resulting exhaust so you should consider a piggyback exhaust as the changes are likely outside of what the ECU will be able to correct for.

I did what the brake engineers designed the system to do - which is to bleed the air. In the real world air rises - trying to bleed air out by forcing it down and out the bottom isn't the best idea, it's like trying to push a balloon to the bottom of a swimming pool - much easier to just let it go and allow it to rise to the top. Some modern brake systems have built in air traps which make any method of bleeding problematic, but for a traditional system this is how it was designed to be bled - just simple physics.
@bartsshorts9 күн бұрын

@MotoMirius9 күн бұрын
@@bartsshorts In normal riding, small amounts of air introduced into the system do indeed bleed - but this happens without you even being aware that is happening. But sometimes, for example when you have worked on the brakes, the front brake will have air trapped in the system - then it would be be reckless and dangerous to you and other road users to ride the bike without a properly functioning front brake whilst you wait for the system to bleed itself. Now to ride the bike in that condition would indeed be insane.

@@MotoMirius so why would i trust a fuelx lite more than a pro over the entire revolution range. if the pro doesn't do the job on maps 5 and 6 for example, (supposedly the equivalent of the lite) why would the lite? what would be the danger of selecting map 7? thanks for your answers. Denis.
@MotoMirius14 күн бұрын
@@denisboisvert6198 Pro and Lite are two different units that do different things. Lite is designed so that the bike runs at KTM fuelling settings without the emissions adjustments - fit and forget. Pro does not have Lite settings, it bumps the fuel map and it is designed for Professional use (clue in the name there) in combination with something like the PowerTRONIC which runs a fixed map. It enables you to use the bike outside of the parameters of the installed PT map - ideally on a temporary basis since you should load a new map if it isn't temporary. The dangers of Pro is that it will bump the fuelling settings with no regards to what the bike actually requires - it is intended that someone who understands how the unit works is in control of it and is knowingly bumping the map with full understanding of the risks and consequences of getting it wrong. As for putting it on 7 it would depend on the mods fitted and the environment in which the bike was being run - hence my comments about the dyno - I'm not going to speculate over things I can't physically touch and frankly neither can anyone else which is why online tuning has such a bad reputation.

Hey Mirius ! Quick question : Is there a difference in performance/adjustability between the Husqui401 suspension (the one you used) and an insert andreani/WPapex pro 6500 ? I can have a used full tube Husqui401 for 600€ but at that price I can also get the insert andreani/WPpro ! Thanks again for the great content
@MotoMirius16 күн бұрын
Yes. With suspension you tend to get what you pay for - which is to say that you can overpay and not get much but you will not get something good for cheap. The one that Husky fitted is the same as is now fitted to all the stock KTM small Dukes, it is certainly better but it depends why you want to upgrade. I did not pay £600 or even close for the complete forks. I've not seen any direct comparisons between the Pro and the Andreani - at least not by anyone not selling one of them. You will probably get more benefit by having the forks set up for you by a suspension specialist than worrying which of the two is better.

@MotoMirius Yes, really difficult to get cheap the OEM full tube from a scrap Husky401, as they are really not common! @MotoMirius21 күн бұрын
I haven't. Generally pod filters make bikes run badly - manufacturers fit airboxes for a reason, so I don't fit them. With a v-twin where the air intake is central you would need to fit a single large one where the current air filter is, so not much gain in looks.

would this work on the rear as well or only the front because of the vertical pipe work ?
@MotoMirius22 күн бұрын
As you will see in the comments - only the front. But the rear is easy to bleed - so long as you don't have ABS which always creates issues because of the pipework routing. The mistake people make when bleeding the rear is to keep opening and closing off the bleed nipple. Fill the reservoir then open the bleed nipple and keep pumping until the reservoir is nearly empty (never let it go empty) then close the bleed nipple, refill the reservoir and repeat a few times.

Manufacturers complicate simple systems with TECHNOLOGY!!! That should be said with huge echo effect on the last word. Yes the god called TECHNOLOGY that has ruined the auto industry is now working to screw your motorbike too. I have a GSX650F (Bandit really) and the ABS pump failed on it and after much misdiagnoses and expensive labor I realized that. So just before I left the dealership with my rear brakes useless and wondering why I would pay $2000 for a new ABS pump for a bike I payed $4500 for, the service manager said I could fix it cheap. I was all elephant ears. He explained that if you seal off the ABS pump and run the hoses from the master cylinders to the calipers which of course bypasses that stupid thing...then Bob's your uncle and tech can take a freakin' hike. And that's what I did and I'm loving it!!! Who needs ABS on a bike??? I've had plenty before and never needed it. It's purpose is so that the steering doesn't lock when hammering the brakes. That works fine on a car but bikes are different and I won't go into it. But balance of the bike and kinetics are part of it. What nonsense and I'm sure there's lots who disagree with and that's fine. But if I get a car I will never get one with a glass mat battery (AGM) because of the price and the b.s. you go through when replacing it. And you can ruin the entire computer system if you're not careful with new cars. And that applies to a long list of replacing simple things made complex for simple systems that have been made complex. It's getting crazy out there and it's increasing by the minute.
@MotoMiriusАй бұрын
Unfortunately with modern bikes the ABS unit is integrated into many of the riding modes so eliminating it isn't going to be that easy because you will have the same electronics and ECU issues. All safety driven and yes, it will not get better.
