Great video as always mate, I doubt my 125 would need something like this due to the power, (or lack of) but good to know for when I eventually upgrade to a 390!

Hey, Mirius. I had a few questions. I wondered if trying to wheelie the duke 125 (2017) will wear out/burn the cluch plates? Are there also some cheap mods that could increase the power of the 125? Love your vids btw, keep up the good work!
@MotoMirius Жыл бұрын
Thanks, always appreciated. Yes, dumping and especially slipping the clutch especially whilst learning to wheelie will wear the plates. The better you are, the less this will happen. 125 is a bit catch 22 as a 5% increase in power is actually very little in real life. Air filter and exhaust is already sized for the 390 so not a lot of point in upgrades there although louder may sound faster. Unless you are legally restricted to a 125 the cheapest and most cost effective upgrade you can do is to swap it for a 390 - same bike, much more power and second hand 390's are priced only a little more than the 125.
@loch5604 Жыл бұрын
@@MotoMirius Hey, Thanks for your detalied reply :)) Going for the 390 isn´t anything I can do for the time being but I looked a little into the rapid bike evo plus doing some stuff like cat removal. Would you recomend buying a ecu for the 125? And would you say it´s worth the cost or are there any cheaper options?
@MotoMirius Жыл бұрын
@@loch5604 You do the CAT only delete, not sure you will really add more than noise. You could consider the FuelX Lite if they do one for the 125 as a cheaper alternative to the EVO. An alternative might be this - can't guarantee the same result - kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKa7hamvmc11o8U

Heya Mirius, I wondered if I could request something similar to what you've done but a video on taking the stator side cover off and accessing the gear position sensor, as I've found mine failing in my RC390 '18 model, as its the same engine as the duke I assume I'd be able to do similar to you, if I where to take the fairing off and lay the bike on its side, but if this is something you'd be able to showcase (As I can't find any videos of this) that would be great as its something I'd be looking to do come spring :)

Thanks. Yes, shouldn't be an issue to do and yes, the engines are pretty much the same at case level.

Couldn't quite see the exact part # for those springs. When you have a moment, may I please have that part #. Thanks again. I just installed the Magura HYMEC Clutch kit, no more adjustments.

If you ever want to be sure you have the correct part number always check the manufacturer site. These are EBC CSK239. Let me know how you get on with the Magura as I have my eye on a few different kits.

Thanks. They are some cheap cycle mirrors that clip on. Those ones are pretty useless but confirmed I can see what I need to see in that position. I'm experimenting with different mirrors at the moment.

can u do a vlog on most common issues solving solution for dukes. Am a honda user for the past 10years,not even a single time i encouted a problem,done 90k miles. if by upgrading or replacing certain parts of duke can we achieve such a thing 😃
@MotoMirius3 жыл бұрын
My experience with Honda is not the same as yours - I like Honda's but they fit a very different market niche to KTM. If you want to compare Honda and KTM think modified Grom, not the 7hp factory stock item. I will give the vlog some thought, thanks. Most of the issues I see appear to be the result of poor manufacturing quality control. There were some design issues on the Gen1 which were mostly solved by the time they launched the gen 2 such as head gasket issues and the gen 1 airbox which got redesigned for the gen 2.

@@MotoMirius also about water pump failure and shimvalve clearence.adding an additional radiator fan or upgrade too 😀

Radiator fans are mostly gen 1 issues so I won’t be talking about those. Water pump seals are common and fall into the poor manufacturer quality control section.

Do you have a quick shifter? If so will it effect that function or the slipper clutch function? Please let us know how it goes.👍🍻

No, I don't have the quickshifter but it shouldn't change anything as there is no interaction by the quickshifter with the clutch.

Great video. 👍🏼 Can you make a video on how to keep your intake valves from clogging up. And how to clean the throttle body on these ktms. Thanks.
@MotoMirius3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. When you say cleaning the throttle body, what problems are you having and are you running a cable throttle or ride by wire? Throttle body is just a pipe with a butterfly valve in.
@mohandeventhiran53143 жыл бұрын
@@MotoMirius hi Mirius, thanks for the reply. Mine is a ride by wire type. I do not have any problems with the vehicle as such. Just wanted to know if the throttle plate inside the throttle body should be cleaned inside out using a slovent at any given interval.

@@mohandeventhiran5314 Unless you are using low quality fuel there isn't any reason for cleaning on any schedule. Increasing levels of ethanol in fuel may change this especially if you don't use the bike regularly.

What do you think about Rekluse clutch for rc390?
@MotoMiriusАй бұрын
It's a good clutch. You could consider it an alternative to quick shifting. But it does mean that the bike cannot be put in gear when the engine is stopped so that it does not roll on a slope - because it will always slip. I actually have one sitting on a shelf that I have not yet fitted.
