have you had any problems since you replaced the fuel pump? Could you get me a link for the pump? Today I found the fuel gauge is completely zero with a full of gas and then when I drove the car again it came back. Ppl said it might be the sending unit but not sure if I would just replace the sending unit or a whole.

If your unit is older than 10 years, you should definitely change it as a whole. I got the pump on Amazon: a.co/d/7MkXByN

Just had to do this a month a half ago this is the second replacement what a pain in the ass I bought one of those cheap tools from the parts store and it fell apart. Had to use the hammer and flathead.

Hello CC-by6rz.... At what mileage did your first pump failed ? My 09 2.4 is at 160,000 Kms (100,000 Miles ) I am just trying to figure out if I should buy a new one and not wait till it fail on a dark night in the middle of no where. Thanks for replying please

@@denisst-cyr3558 50k Miles Roughly the First one died but the car was a 2007 and it was 2016. That replacement lasted till 2023 with 90k miles so about every 7 - 8 years. If your car starts right up and doesn't take two trys to turn over I wouldn't replace it.

I wish you had shown using the flimsy tool don’t care if you bent the ring a new ring cheap. But that dam ring fused to the tank no chisel or screwdriver helps one bit

hello NuMber...great vid Tell me, what was the symptom(s) that make you decide to change the pump @ 173,000 miles ? did you get home with a towing service or were you able to drive on your own to home ? Just trying here to figure out if I should change my pump (on my 09 2.4 ) to be preventive or wait till it shows symptom of weakness...Please feel free to reply with your recommendations...I am only at 160,000 Kms (here in Canada ) on my 2009 2.4 Limited

Hi Denisst, One of the major signs that your fuel pump is going bad is if you see your dashboard lights flicker or or they turn off for a period of time and then come back on. It happen to me but I let it be. Then one long drive later, I pull up to my driveway (put the car in park) I drop off my kids and when I try to reverse it, the car shutters off. It’s almost feels like having a dead battery. Best of luck!!!

Mine I have to drop the tank to access unless I cut through the flooring and hope I am accurate.

Forgot to add might be wise to use brass to avoid sparks if using the hammer method. I'll have both on hand and will be using locktite on the screws and see if that prevents the problem u had with the tool.

When you're cheap eBay fuel pump that saved you some money fails, and you order another one, you ought to order a new lock ring to replace the mangled one. Shouldn't be expensive for the ring.
