I've used this stuff and it works. The only thing I've ever found, and trust me I've tried, that actually seems to work. You actually leave some rust on it for it to work unlike so many products that you have to remove the rust basically before it can be applied. That's great if it is brand new but otherwise you spend hours trying to get all the rust off and with many items, welded, bolted, whatever you can't unless you take it completely apart.

I always use the spray for quick and easy stoppage. I think the rust tries to come back over time appearing in certain tiny spots. Maybe three coats next time.

Chestertron use to make a spray rust killer that worked everytime. It would kinda foam black a little instantly when it touched rust.

I'd check their SDS information for anything they sell. Just looked it up from what you wrote and their ARC 855 will mess you and the environment up big time.

One comment I have is that I bought a bottle of this stuff a few years ago and used it for a small car part. Seemed to work good but the product must have a shelf life because I pulled it out the other day and found that most of the bottle is now hard with a small amount of liquid on top. So will have to buy more now. No best if used by date on the bottle.

The downloadable data sheet on the website said it has a 24 month shelf life after manufacturing date.

1. I used the Loctite Extend Rust Neutralizer liquid on rusty tailgate scratches applying with a Qtip before spraying on bedliner coating and it turned black BUT.. 2. Same container a week later i applied it to a drive shaft that had plenty of light to medium rust and the liquid and rust did not turn black at all . Drive shaft looks like I wiped satin varnish on it instead. Any reason why? Both applications were same container. Same temperatures.

I would like to address a rusty fender with an enclosed area. Do you have a product which can be used to fog the interior of a cavity and covered with a Kroil spray for permanent protection?

It's misleading to say it drys in 20 min. then recoat without adding that it takes 48hrs to actually cure enough coat with oil based primer. I put 2 full coats on a trailer and waited 48hrs for it to dry. Before I could prime it 3 weeks of rain moved in and it was just as rusty as when I started by this morning. Put 3 cans on today and hoping it's dry for 2 more days. The cure time sucks. 6 cans now on a 2 axle trailer. This is the first time I've tried this product because I couldn't find ospho locally. I'm having my doubts but the water's to deep to change horses now.

Would that work inside of a gas tank?
@paulgallo64847 жыл бұрын
trailblazers2001 I would be worried about the stuff ending up in the gas and destroying your engine

Needs at least 3 coats. Each coat every 24 hours and no wet conditions. Need to dry well between coats. If wet, like rain after, it wont do. Waste of money and effort. After the 3 coats and black, dont use a zinc based paint. Read instructions well or waste your time with rust coming back again..

This stuff is crap. When dry then if it's a dewy nite this stuff dissolves. The English made kurust is better as it does not dissolve in rain etc.

I don't know, I've tried shit like this before. In my experience with what seems like very similar products, rusting is actually accelerated. If I'm full of shit maybe Loctite can respond. I think it's basically just a polymer that covers the rust for a short time.

Loctite North America I tried to call twice, but your phone doesn't work. I get a message that goes nowhere. I kind of doubt the Loctite Rust Remover claims, but I'm not positive. I mean the Rustoleum sticks to plastic stuff works and Loctite red is as strong as Aluminum threads. Do you have a phone number that works.
