There's a lot of them, but they're all shallow surface scratches, which are the ones this type of thing fixes. Minor/severe scratches is more about depth than amount.

You don't just put the toothpaste on then wipe it off, you have to use it as a rubbing/polishing compound to smooth out the scratches, then do the final polishing with the cloth!

It...Actually...Worked😨 I have a DVD disc that has a few scratches on it and tried this and since I didn't have a silk cloth i use my "silk" cloth I use to clean my glasses and it acually worked and the disk is Shrek 1 so I can watch the whole movie without it stopping every scratch!😀 Thanks man! Oh and if you have glasses and you have a glasses cloth to clean your glasses then I might as well recommend that you use it whenever you use a silk cloth to clean the DVD disc so you're very very lucky if you're watching this video and your glasses and have a glasses cloth use it for the silk cloth.

Holy shit this worked. My BO3 Finally WORKS NOW!. For some context, if it doesn't work, when you're rubbing the toothpaste in, don't do it in circles. If you're making it wet, don't do it in circles, and when you're cleaning it, don't do it in circles. The Disc reader reads it in circles, so rubbing it in circles, makes it worse.

"0000" steel wool (the finest available) works too. Do not use anything more coarse than "0000". Don't press too hard, using small circular motions, just go slow until you see the surface makes disappearing. Also, automotive scratch remover works (the clear-coat on cars is very thin so this is entirely safe for acrylic coating on discs, also on clouded headlight plastic).

The shiny inner ring is the indexing portion. You're not meant to touch that part cause a scratch there can ruin discs. So, cd hole---> plastic---> shiny ring---> normal cd material. you can just clean around the shiny inner ring and only put substances on the cd material.
