Do you have a video on how to sew the zipper on the drysuit?

Unfortunately I don’t. One must be very skillful and have a right sewing machine to do it right. Here I’m trying to show that all of the problems and improvements one might be able to do without any special skills (almost) and equipment

Would you be comfortable gluing in a zipper on a suit using contact adhesive or do you think it's important to sew in?

Glueing is enough I think

Is there any advantage to using nail scissors instead of a seam ripper? Nail scissors are cheap enough I could go grab a pair, just wondering if it makes a big difference or not

I'm trying to using the fancy tools here, but rather those everybody most possibly has. Also, the seam reaper was tough to use sometimes and I ended up biting into the suit fabric with it. But may be its just me...

@@DrySuitProjects I did mine with the seam ripper (because I don't have nail scissors, but did have two seam rippers in my sewing kit) - I did bite into the fabric once before I got the hang of it. (Fortunately in an easy part to patch) The technique that worked best for me was being very careful at cutting the seams at the start (from the outside, one stitch at a time) and then when I got it separated I could slide the seam ripper in between the lip that was stitched and the zipper and slowly push the seam ripper forward and take out about 3-4 inches of seams at a time.

Hej can one then just add another zipper on top with glue tape ?
@DrySuitProjects3 жыл бұрын
As long as the base for glueing is solid and can be used with this glue - go for it. I usually try to remove the residues of old staff to minimize the “surprises”

@@DrySuitProjects Thanks fingers crossed I'm trying this
