Followed the advice..partially. Suit came from the cleaners with a cigarette smell and I didnt have "atleast 24 hours" to air it out. Placed suit in front of a floor fan for a few hours before bedtime and then allowed the suit to set out (not in the closet) over night. (I didnt trust leaving a fan on over night in an unattended room). The next morning the odor was gone. Thanks.

​@@Killacorn maybe there are particular circumstances, like the cover around the blades of the fan are big enough that a kid could poke their hands through and, y'know, _cut a finger off or something._ hell, maybe their fan has no cover at all. you could argue to "buy a new fan", but maybe that wasn't feasible at that time and they needed a "right now" solution. also, consider older homes with weaker electrical systems; leaving too many appliances on overnight could lead to a breaker switch throwing and, if you don't wake up from that, your appliances are down until you do wake up and resolve that. if you don't wake up for, say, five hours after that happens, you can say goodbye to just about anything in your fridge and freezer. everyone's circumstances are different, is what I'm getting at. things that sound silly to you may make _a whole lot of sense_ to others.

@mangishumail It'll depend on what caused the stain and how set it is, but you may be out of luck on old ones. A long soak might loosen things up enough to scrub the stain out by hand, but generally once it's set into the threads themselves it's hard to get out chemical stains. Sorry!
