Another quick solution: I use 2 zip ties, slide them into the holding tags on both sides of the 90° positions and they lifted those tags up enough and the gas line slipped right off. Sweet! 😲

Thanks for the tip. Here's one for you too. Beginning of video when you're talking about inlet and return fuel lines, you pointed to the black round diaphragm and called it the pressure regulator. That's actually just a damper to reduce vibration in the line. The regulator is on the RH side of the intake back side of the fuel rail.

hey neighbor have you ever taken one apart? is it just a little nitrogen bladder? im curious if this piece failed what the characteristics would be. whether even altering running characteristics or just failure of fuel system pieces sooner?
@HoneyGuys-w5x7 ай бұрын
In order to manage the pressure of the gas line, pull the fuse for the gas pump, then start the vehicle. Let the vehicle die and then you will have no pressure in the line.

Hey - thank you!!! I go for a cheap impreza sedan or wagon. Easy to find cheap and all the awesome GC8 parts fit (and many newer model parts), so they’re easy to maintain on the cheap and upgrade over time.

HELP! hopefully someone can help. I just recently got an 05 forester and did a head gasket job. I forgot to depressurize the fuel system so when I drive it around, it died on me. I read up on a forum and it said that there's no need to bleed the system. I was just wondering of this is true and if so, what could the problem be. I didn't have this issue before I started the job
@DrewDiddy77036 жыл бұрын
Nice tip, I’ve seen it done from the opposite end, this seems easier, is there Any need to pull a fuse or something to relieve fuel pressure first?
@SubaruONLY6 жыл бұрын
Yes. Couple ways but most important is not to push fuel into the cylinders when no oil pressure present, that fuel washes down the lube on the cylinder walls and makes those rings start wearing the surface.

WARNING!! Easier Solution ==. Take a medium to large sized zip tie. cut both sides so its squared off. Then slide the cut ends under the "Tabs" in the clip, hold in place and pull the fitting off. Thank me later....

Hahah. So true! 👊 If I didn’t have three other manual Subarus, I’d never pick up an auto!! Plus, gonna JDM 6-speed swap it some day soon! *Random side note: Thinking that most turbo Subarus with an auto are less abused and they cost a couple grand less. So, maybe getting a better condition auto for coupe grand less and using that money to swap in JDM manual box will cost the same in the long run but get me far less abused car. Just a thought. Way more effort. But effort is free!!!
